Top 25 Multiplayer Games of All Time

I would say that Medieval Mayhem is a tribute to the original Warlords, and therefore Warlords deserves the credit for originality.

Flashback Question

You know, you can pick up an Atari 2600, especially the later Jr. model, off eBay for about $35 including cables and a joystick or two. Why not just buy one of those? Now, the Coleco on the other hand... I was looking at those on eBay yesterday, and you won't get one that's stated to be tested and w...

2015/1/18: Odyssey 2: K.C. Munchkin!, Demon Attack, Amok!

The O2/Videopac is really something of an unsung hero. It's kind of a shame, as it sold in roughly the same quantity (2 million units) as the Colecovision, yet the CV has much more of a cult following.

That said, the O2 is very affordable. You can pick up a complete working sy...

2015/1/21: Atari 7800: Astro Blaster, K.C. Munchkin

I was very surprised by your low score for KC Munchkin. I love the original O2 version - it's a better Pacman than Pacman. The controls must be really pooched if you gave it a 'D'.

Intellivision Flashback Review

The homebrews on the Atari FB5 are from Good Deal Games and AtariAge. They're written in Batari Basic. Although not bad games, I can't say any is a standout.

2015/1/18: Odyssey 2: K.C. Munchkin!, Demon Attack, Amok!

Although the Odyssey 2 is not a system that gets much love, I own one and think it's great. The two KC games and UFO! are really terrific, and easily rival the best games on any other 8-bit era system.

The O2 also has a very healthy homebrew scene, with several new releases each yea...

Intellivision Flashback Review

The new games consist of about 12 M-Network games and a few homebrews that have clear trademarks, so games like Astroblast or Sea Battle, but not games such as Burgertime.

You can find a complete list of the included games...

Intellivision Flashback Review

I have both the Intellivision and the Colecovision Flashbacks. I am happy with both, but if I had to choose one over the other, I'd lean to the Intellivision version. Since they had access to the Mattel library, the majority of the better first-party Intellivision games are included. &nb...

Colecovision Flashback Review

I received my Colecovision Flashback today, and have spent a couple of hours playing games on it so far.

I'm reasonably impressed with it. It has some flaws (I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars) - but it is a lot of fun. I used to own a 'real' 80s Colecovision with a fair ...

When did video games go mainstream?

What do you mean by "go mainstream"? I would think that means popular and commonly known to the average citizen. I would point at Space Invaders. There were many video games before then, but that was the first videogame to become popular enough to enter the 'mainst...
