Re: Video Game Narrative

I think voice acting is actually pretty solid nowadays. Sure sometimes you get a bad apple but most of the time it is pretty great. I guess I'm used to 90s fmv games or really act genre from back then. Other then games like snatcher, mgs, and a few others, most games back then had truly terrible voi...

Re: Reproduction carts?

I don't really understand the question here... I understand the appeal of reproduction carts (I own several) but why would he buy a reproduction of a game that has a physical release in the U.S., except for maybe weird promotional games (like Nintendo World Cup). If he was going to do that he might ...

Re: Retro VGS

I watched the video and it definitely looked promising. My main concerns are similar to Tron's, that only a very small library of games will ever come out for it. I also have to wonder how expensive the games will be, since cartridges were expensive to make back in the day (I'd assume they'd be much...

Re: Video Game Narrative

Interesting thread. I have always felt that games were able to tell amazing stories. The main way that I've found them to be so immersive is the interactivity that the gaming media presents. Games like Journey tell a story without ever really saying a word. While other games (like Chrono Trigger or ...

Re: Games that you had to beat 100%

That's pretty awesome. I can barely beat the first Castlevania and definitely not on one continue... I usually use at least 3 by the 3rd stage... Castlevania 3 is even worst. I still have never beaten that game.

Re: Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot

I think this is an awesome idea by Nintendo. With the power of DLC, opening it up to the fanbase to get ideas for future characters is a great idea. Still, on a personal note, I'm not a huge fan of the new smash bros game compared to other versions. I don't like a lot of the changes Nintendo made to...

Re: General Conversation forum?

However, maybe there's room for an "other media" forum that would let people discuss movies, music, and stuff like that. I think an "other media" forum would be a lot of fun. It would be fun to talk about horror movies, music, or whatever. I'd definitely enjoy a place to talk ab...

Re: 2015/4/18: Genesis: Rastan Saga II, Ex-Mutants, Gauntlet 4

I think someone made this point a few reviews ago but I think you're reviews are definitely the most comical for bad, old games. I laughed a few times during the Rastan II review and thought it was well done. Your observations were fun too read. It's a piety the game sucks but hey, it was a good rev...

Re: Nice mention of Dr. Mario on local CBC

One of my old friends has a grandmother who used to play Dr. Mario all the time (SNES version). She was so insanely good at that game she could make it into the much higher levels (like 30+). For an older lady in her late 70's, early 80's, she had game. I could barely make it past the first 10 or so...
