Re: Confess Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

More unpopular here than other forums, but 2017 was one of the absolute best years for gaming ever. 2017 was unreal. Absolutely true. Great year for Nintendo in particular, but there were tons of classics for other platforms as well. I haven't thought about it enough to say whether 2017 is the best...

Re: Analogue Super Nt

Star Ocean used the S-DD1 enhancement chip, which decompressed information on the fly that was stored on the rom chip. This allowed 96 megabits of sprite information to be stored within the confines of a cheaper 32 megabit rom chip, evidently making for a cheaper game to manufacture despite the cos...

Wait so Star Ocean runs from SD card even though it's a chip game?

Re: Doom for the Switch

From 60fps to 30fps is a huge difference, but like with all the other differences, if you haven't played the other versions it won't make any difference to you.

Re: Game Informer Top 300

Cool list. I just got my copy. Very subjective but cool nonetheless. I never really liked "A link to the past"...it is just too confusing on how to figure out where to go next. I would have voted Super Mario 3 ahead of it myself. Of course, my GREATEST game of all time is an RPG from the ...

Re: Got a Super Nintendo Classic

Nice. It's a great little system to have. I almost went for one but the cartridge/SD slot of the Analogue Nt nudged me in its direction.

Re: Game Informer Top 300

I agree that this was a good list. My only gripe is I would have preferred Dark Souls to be a little higher. I also don't see how Dark Souls 2 has a place on this list. Like RetroStrife, I applaud GI for avoiding recency bias and giving Mario Odyssey and BOTW modest rankings. Time will tell how impa...

Are you planning to review the game, Critic? If so, maybe I’ll do the sequel...

BTW, prepare to have this game’s music stuck in your head for all eternity.

Re: New Tomb Raider Movie!

Has anyone seen the movie yet? From the reviews I can't discern whether or not this is worth watching as a mindless action flick. That being said, with releases like Black Panther we are seeing that fun action movies can be artful too. Not sure if there's a place these days for trashy entertainment ...
