Re: The Horror Movie Lovers Thread

God... I just watched Sinister 2.... It was absolutely terrible. I heard it was bad but I was hoping like funny bad... How they screwed it up is beyond me. It felt like a bad drama and barely had any scares. There was one cool scene with the rats and that's about it. Not recommended... Don't waste ...

Re: Good Resident Evil clones?

Silent Hill 1 and 2 (especially 2) are going to be the closest to what you're looking for. I too enjoy the gameplay of the original Resident Evil with its balance of puzzles and combat. Have you played the Resident Evil Remake, whether the Gamecube original or the HD remaster? That's probably the be...

Re: The real life Chun Li by Akiman aka Akira Yasuda.

Good cosplay, for sure, but the poses are super lame. Chun Li should be in some kind of fighting stance, not lounging seductively on a couch. Doesn't even remotely fit her character.

Re: I really hate Windows updates

Are you kidding? Windows 10 is a botnet, do not under any circumstance upgrade to it or use it. No. This has been way overblown. Gathering usage statistics to improve the system's AI and usability is something that Apple has been doing with Siri for years. Microsoft just woke up to the idea that fo...

Re: I really hate Windows updates

Which Windows are you using? I highly recommend upgrading to 10 if you have 7 or 8. Updating is still a pain but at least it doesn't pull this crap on you. Windows has always been an OS I reluctantly put up with due to its gaming capabilities. If I could play all my games on OSX I'd never touch Wind...

Good point, I think most of the people commenting haven't actually played this recently. I think I'll do just that!

Re: In defense of 'bad' disparaged games

One bad game that I liked when it came out and still like to this day is Shadows of the Empire for n64. For me it really felt like the first Star Wars game that had a story and characters that stood on their own and didn't rely on the films.

Re: Minor League Video Gaming today

I think the situation is a lot better now than we make it out to be. Developers in the PS2 era depended wholly on publisher funding, and although it was easier to greenlight weird or unmarketable games as long as they weren't too expensive, there was no true self-publishing on console. Nowadays, any...

Re: RPG Review Crew?

I think this is a really great idea, Critic. RPGs are a vital part of gaming but one that admittedly doesn't work well with a format where one person (Dave) is reviewing every game in every genre. RPGs tend to be lengthy, but it's a hardcore gaming genre and has a lot of fans. There are certain sit...

Best cocktail you've ever had?

So--I know this isn't really a "medium," strictly speaking, but I'm sure many of us on the forum enjoy a nice stiff drink after a long workday. I'm not the biggest cocktail guy and mostly prefer to enjoy my spirits neat or, in rare cases, on the rocks. That being said, there are a few amaz...
