Re: Keep Politics out of video games

I'm not sure where this conversation is going, but I don't believe it''s going to end well. I think this one is well on the way to being a political discussion now. We got talk of "SJWs", gender identity, and the wage gap going on here now, so I'd say we're as deep into Western political ...

In that case, I'd recommend the Dell XPS 13, the Lenovo suggested by MoarRipter, or a Surface book. The Surface books can get pricey, but the screen quality is second to none.

Re: Keep Politics out of video games

Pretend science (gender identity) is willful ignorance. Gender identity is not a scientific concept. You're thinking of sex , which is a biological concept. The fact that born males can identify as females and born females can identify as males is self-evident in the fact that they do. It's a thing...

Re: Keep Politics out of video games

With popular media, a lot of people lately are using the term "politics to refer to content that they disagree with or that makes them uncomfortable, and which they seek to silence with a broad categorical statement. Artists seek to disrupt the status quo, to challenge people to think. It's as ...

Gold PS4 Slim

This week only, Sony is selling a gold PS4 slim with a 1TB hard drive for $249. Lured by the gaudy finish and matching controller, I took the plunge. So far, the system does not disappoint. Honestly, is looks a lot classier than I expected. It reminds me a bit of the silver PS2 slim from back in the...

Re: Buying a New Laptop

I found a fantastic deal on a MacBook Air 13". The screen is nowhere near as nice as the other MacBooks but this is still a capable little machine. And the price is just insane for a new Mac. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=034629&utm_source=eNews%20Special%20Ed%2...

Re: Playing Game Gear on TV

I already tend to review Game Boy carts on my Super Game Boy (SNES) or Game Boy Player (GameCube) and aren't they really just emulators as well? Actually they aren't! The Super Gameboy and Game Boy Player contain the physical hardware of a Game Boy and Game Boy Advance, respectively, so there's no ...

Re: Buying a New Laptop

I'm not much of a current-gen gamer, but my Toshiba Satellite cost about $800 last year for a model that had discrete graphics at all. I'd imagine that a machine with good performance for games would be $1000 minimum. That's a very good deal for a laptop with discrete graphics. These days, though, ...

Re: Buying a New Laptop

I'm going to take some flak for this, but the Macbook Pro with Retina Display is still the best all-around laptop. The previous generation (before they did away with a lot of the ports) is getting good markdowns in price. Intel's Iris graphics chipset is at the point where it can compete with dedica...

Just how bad are the Star Wars prequels?

I have found myself in a situation which is no doubt familiar to many of you out there: my girlfriend knew nothing about Star Wars, and I had to figure out the best way to educate her in the ways of the Force. We watched Episode VII first. My girlfriend is a casual fan of the MCU so the latest entry...
