Re: Digitpress.com Gone.

The scans of classic books from the golden age of arcade gaming are cached here. https://web.archive.org/web/20170606141802/http://www.digitpress.com/library/books/ While I've downloaded what I wanted to keep, it would be nice for the community as a whole to see a classic gaming site download those ...

Re: End of Xbox?

That's why I wish you could rename people in your friends list on game systems. I would immediately know who Atarifever was in my list, but I'd forget within a month that someone named RandomUser1854654 corresponds to the guy that I know as Atarifever at a few forums. ICQ 20 years ago let me do this...

Re: Digitpress.com Gone.

It was time for Digital Press to die. The owner abandoned it years ago when he started his store and was dreaming about founding a national videogame museum, claiming that the current administrator owned it. And said administrator claimed he didn't own it and that the founder still held the keys. An...

Re: Analog NT: The Ultimate NES!

The Analogue Super NT has been announced. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/10/the_analogue_super_nt_is_the_ultimate_snes_clone_and_you_can_pre-order_now Unlike before where I felt that the Retro USB AVS was the way to go for a HDMI NES, this one looks great and is fairly priced. It looks all se...

Re: Wii Shop Channel is shutting down soon. Make backups for WiiWare titles while you still can.

I doubt the old Wii Shop was proving much of a distraction for the Switch. I imagine it's just economics at play. After 11 years, perhaps it's costing Nintendo more than it's bringing in to keep it alive with downloads likely at a trickle prior to this announcement. By giving us fair warning, it's g...

Re: VGA to HDMI for Dreamcast

I hooked this up to my NTSC PS2 just now.

Ico didn't work, so I guess these just don't work with 240p sources. I'm glad I never bought any PAL PS1 games now.

Re: The Calling (Wii)

I've never even heard of this. The Critics hated this on Metacritic, but the reader review score on GameFaqs is much higher and has a decent sample size with 76 people grading it. It looks very intriguing on YouTube, so I tend to believe that this one was treated a bit harshly by the media. I'll hav...

Re: VGA to HDMI for Dreamcast

I suppose it might be worth adding that this is a good option for PS2 importers. too. The Panlong PS2 to HDMI Converter that I have lets me display a PAL PS2 on my tv without any issues, and looks much like what you've pictured. My guess is that the cutscene in Thunder Force V is running at 480i. I ...

Re: Bosconian clone comming to the Atari 2600!!!

What's the first game pictured in your post? And I didn't know that there was a Galaga homebrew for the 2600. Out of curiosity, are you finished with the audio for Draconian? Amazing conversion of Bosconian, with about the only thing I can even pick up on that isn't present here being the background...

Re: VGA to HDMI for Dreamcast

So, it's all good, right? Well, if you use your PS2 to play PS1 games, you'll need to keep the old PS2 component AV cable handy. Apparently, the older PS1 doesn't output a signal the adapter can deal with. It must not be able to handle upscaling 240p, which also means that Ico for the PS2 won't wor...
