Re: New System: Sega SG-1000

Just had another thought. If this is the Japanese version of the Sega Master System, doesn't that mean that the Critic now has a way to enjoy FM sound in compatible SMS titles? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4vibLp7Vwc Although I've sadly only ever enjoyed it in emulators, I've always thought that...

Re: New System: Sega SG-1000

I'm surprised they didn't replace the power LED. I actually get a feeling more reminiscent of the Colecovision with the SG-1000 games that I've loaded up via an Everdrive. Compare the Hang-On ports for instance and it really makes the SMS feel like a significantly more powerful system from a later ...

Re: Nintendo Direct and the "new" Nintendo focus

Customer-centric Nintendo, the company that a past member alleged would never partake in all the evils of modern gaming, is now going to lock a brand new dungeon in Twilight Princess HD behind the Amiibo pay-wall. You'll have to buy the deluxe edition that includes the Twilight Princess Amiibo in or...

Re: 2016/1/2: Colecovision: Bump n Jump, Keystone Kapers

The 2600 was their bread and butter so they had little incentive to make their efforts on that system look 2nd rate in comparison, by heavily enhancing ports of that content.

Re: Can you play Game Gear games on a TV?

And while it won't support original media, I bet it plays SG-1000 roms loaded from a SD card. Wasn't one of you interested in possibly tracking down some SG-1000 games a while back? This review of the Retro Freak that I just read (Which is a console that I brought up in this thread since it has Gam...

Re: Intellivision ROM cart?

They're ambitious homebrew projects, so they take some time and have long gestation periods. But both appear to be in the final testing phases with deliveries anticipated later this winter.

If it's of any help, I'll bump this thread when orders/deliveries begin on one of these.

Re: Intellivision ROM cart?

Yes, there are re-programmable multicarts for the Intellivision. In fact you're in luck since now is definitely the time to be considering such a purchase due to two new offerings being slated for release very soon. First, there's the Hive multicart. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/214212-hive-mult...

Re: Can you play Game Gear games on a TV?

A couple of people at AtariAge have the Retro Freak and are posting impressions. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/247050-retro-freak-firmware-update/ Sounds promising if it indeed releases over here next year. Not only will it be able to play Game Gear software on a television, it can also add a lot...
