Re: Can you play Game Gear games on a TV?

I believe that I've seen folks offering their services to install McWill's excellent mod over at AtariAge. And if you make an inquiry in that thread and let it "slip" that you're the famous Critic, you'll surely get some talented hobbyist confident enough in their skills to take on the job...

Re: Can you play Game Gear games on a TV?

Not 1st party, I'm afraid. A cartridge adapter for the Retron 5 however was announced a while back. And another emulation based system that just released in Japan, called the Retro Freak, can play them although it will also require a cartridge adapter. Hasn't came West yet, but I imagine that will h...

Re: Need For Speed Sucks?

There's an emphasis on online multiplayer and always being connected to that world. I don't much like it either since there's a full single player experience here that's a good game outside of the poor cut scenes, but that's their justification for it. It's supposedly to our benefit to seamlessly be...

Re: NASCAR 99 (N64)

I bought the roster update to this on the Nintendo 64 when it was new and wasn't very impressed (Which in EA tradition was naturally called NASCAR 2000). I thought that the physics were pretty poor (Can't even go wide open around Talladega for an obvious one), the textures were muddy, the AI was ter...

Re: Atari Anthology (PS2)

Too bad that pesky copyrights get in the way. I think that you'd of enjoyed their home conversions of classics like Phoenix and Ms. Pac-Man. Atari was definitely at their best on the VCS when it came to porting arcade games. Even some of the best examples here outside of the arcade category were in ...

Re: Playstation Vita

The only thing wrong with the PSTV is the lack of compatibility. Many more Vita releases could be fully playable on it, but arbitrary rules lock them out since the publishers haven't signed off on allowing their games to be played here (Despite no need for such nonsense elsewhere like the Game Boy P...

Re: Worst Nintendo holiday lineup and pricing ever?

I'd nitpick a bit and say that I feel like the DS is where this trend started. Shoehorning touch screen control into experiences where it was detrimental just for the sake of utilizing the feature and justifying the inclusion of it with the hardware, was the start of this attitude at Nintendo where ...

There were still a lot of good Germans during WWII. I've heard almost nothing but good things about German sailors in particular. While there were a few bad apples like the captain of U-852 that ordered the survivors of one of her victims to be shot (An action that he was tried after the war and exe...

Re: Metal SLug Anthology - PS2

Are you playing on a HDTV or a SDCRT?

I notice no lag on my Trinitron and suspect that you're gaming on a HDTV and are noticing the deinterlacing of the 480i picture (As I recall, MSA doesn't support 480p nor the original 240p like the PS1 game utilizes that allows it to skip the deinterlacing step).
