Re: ET Creator

I actually think ET is not a bad game. But then again....... I like rancid milk. The Funk is back! Long live the funk! I thought you might have been mortally injured by a Bob Orton Superplex or a Honky Tonk Man 'Shake, Rattle, and Roll'! http://videogamecritic.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5084&t=...

Re: Popeye (NES)

Nice read Matmico. I always enjoyed Popeye in the arcade back in the day. Big, colorful characters, just the right amount of difficulty, quite a bit going on, and fun gameplay. Never played the NES version, but if it's anything like the arcade version, it's a winner.

Re: ET Creator

Luigi and Peach, thanks for posting. It was interesting to read quotes from Warshaw about the making of ET, and to read what's he been up to since ET. I've read quite a bit about the making of this game, and it was pretty fascinating. Ray Kassar, the president of Atari, was not the one who gave Spie...

Re: Why does everyone love Pac Man so much?

Everything Scotland stated in the above post. I've posted this before here about 8 years ago, but here it goes, my Pacman story. In the summer of 1982, a local pizza joint/video arcade opened up in my hometown of western PA, a small, depressed steel-mill town. The pizza shop was in the front, and in...

Re: What parts of Retro Gaming take up your time?

I find that reading about classic gaming takes up most of my retro gaming time. That's awesome. I've never read the Atari Inc, Business if Fun book. Maybe you could do a reader review? I just bought some books from storybundle.com with a history of Roguelikes. This bundle was not particulary great,...

Re: What parts of Retro Gaming take up your time?

Scotland, nice thread as always. Not sure if my reply matches your original question, but I find that reading about classic gaming takes up most of my retro gaming time. I've read 'Atari Inc., Business is Fun' many times about the history of Atari. At first I thought the book was a one-time read, bu...

I've always been a big fan of Diddy Kong Racing for some reason. Just a fun, fun game.

Re: What reviews do you get excited about?

As stated by others, I get stoked for the classic game reviews: 2600, 5200, 7800, INTV, CV. I've read about the Astrocade, Fairchild F, and Odyssey, but never owned these, so it's always cool to learn about these games. I know I've mentioned this before in other threads about how much I enjoyed VGC'...

Re: 2016/2/4: Intellivision: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Junior

Good reviews. I remember buying Donkey Kong as soon as I bought my INTV. I think I paid $39.95, which in 1983 dollars would be $1.2 trillion today  . I've read that Coleco purposefully put out a garbage INTV version of DK to reinforce the idea that the CV was the superior system. Haven't pl...

For what it's worth, I didn't say you shouted. You interjected politics in your post which had the potential of turning this thread into a political shouting match.
