Re: Dads/fathers: when do you find time to play?

I have a 15 year old son and an 8 year old son; both love gaming. I play Zombies on COD 3 with my older son, and my younger son loves Forza. I can play whenever I have free time. However, 2 or 3 years ago I was playing Skyrim when my younger son, who was about 5 years old at the time, was in the roo...

Re: Who here actually LIKES the Angry Video Game Nerd?

Wow, I remember this was first posted. Time flies.

I have to be in the mood to watch AVGN, but I do find him funny. I was not a fan at all of his Bugs Bunny review, and it can at times get too gross. But his reviews of the INTV/CV were pretty hilarious (especially his comment about the CV adapter).

Re: What game system's lack of sucess shocked you?

I agree with Scotland, Tron, and Maks about the INTV. I started out with the 2600, and then moved up to the INTV because my two best friends were saying how great it was. Paid for it with my paper-delivery memory (yeah, such a job once existed for a young kid). However, none of my other friends had ...

This review is why I've been coming back to this site for years: tight, NO waste of words, clear and concise, yet extremely discriptive. Great review.

Re: 2015/9/22: Super Nintendo: California Games II, Phalanx, Tinstar

I guess I still have a lot to learn about marketing. LOL! Tron buddy, I do think you have a point about the box cover. I was just out of college when I saw Phalanx, and I thought it was quirky and goofy. But I don't how well it would fly with young kids at the time, who were probably thinking "...

Re: 2015/9/22: Super Nintendo: California Games II, Phalanx, Tinstar

I saw that Phalanx box at the video store and begged my mom to rent it for me. Then I got home and was so disappointed. Not really sure what I expected from that game, but somehow an old guy with a banjo made me think It was going to be good. For some reason, I feel like that banjo guy was relevant...

Re: 2015/9/22: Super Nintendo: California Games II, Phalanx, Tinstar

Good reviews. I distinctly remember buying Phalanx when I was living in Japan. I was back in the States for a couple weeks for Christmas holiday, and I saw the game for really cheap, so I bought it. I think I made the purchase because of the hillbilly on the box cover, and I just thought it was a re...

Re: 2015/9/17: Xbox One: Rare Replay

I bought this for my son and was watching him play it on XBox One (haven't yet gotten around to playing it). Seems like a great value, but one thing that I did not like was the games only took up about 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the screen. Can this be changed to a full screen? If not, why is it like this?...

Re: What video game system would you never sell off

I could never see myself getting rid of my INTV. George Plimpton ordered me not to or else.

It's such an important part of my childhood, and the games still bring back so many memories, I don't think I could ever part with it.
