Re: New Idea for Site?

Don't want to sound like a Debbie Downer, but I find myself spending less time here because of the "Hot Topics" link. A good idea in theory, but I come here now, look at the Hot Topics, and if nothing piques my interest, I move on. Before I'd check out each forum and maybe put my two cents...

Re: Things in Video Games you Hate?

I'm sure that this has been stated, but with RPG's and action/adventure games, after an hour or two of roaming, I say to myself, "I have no idea where to go or what to do next."

Re: What ever happened to arcade games?

Pinball PA in Hopwell, PA, in western Pennslvania will blow you away (was going to make a separate thread, but decided to post here). 150 pinball games, 250 arcade games from the 1950's to the 1990's. I grew up in western PA and visit family and friends yearly. We just got back from a visit, and I t...

Star Fox 64. Never understood the appeal of this game, as some call it one of the best ever. I call it a shoulder-shrugger.

Re: Main Page Style Changes

I agree with others, I'm not a big fan of the WiiU borders on the main page. BUT, not all changes will be successful; some changes may need tweaking, others will need to be completely scrapped. It's a part of the process. Keep up the good work!

Re: Does a game reviewers age matter to you?

a reviewer's writing style and grammar skills do matter. I've always favored content over style and grammar. To go outside video games, Stephen Hawking has an emotionless electronic voice, but its what he is saying, not how he is saying it that matters. ee cummings had horrible grammar. Content is ...

Re: Does a game reviewers age matter to you?

I guess age doesn't really matter to me, but it would give me a better perspective as to how the reviewer viewed the game. Someone who's 18 would (perhaps) have a different perspective than a reviewer who is 48. I know this goes without saying, but a reviewer's writing style and (sorry) grammar skil...

Re: 2016/7/25: Atari 2600: Swordquest Waterworld, Summer Games

Nice reviews Dave. And it was good to see you review Swordquest Waterworld, as your other two Swordquest reviews for the 2600 are hilarious. Regarding the tie-in of the Swordquest games to a comic book, I know I'll have virtual tomatoes thrown at me, but I thought at the time that this was a really ...

Re: Is E.T. on Atari 2600 really that bad?

The movie also debunks the myth that ET is the worst game ever. Not even close. In the movie, one guy mentions how Fire Fly is so much worse.

VGC's grade of Fire Fly reviewed in 2004? F. And a pretty funny review to boot.

Re: Is E.T. on Atari 2600 really that bad?

Yeah I caught this on TV about a year ago and I LOVED it. It really provided some fascinating insight to what it was like to work at Atari back in the day. Highly recommended. Agreed. I saw "Atari: Game Over" a couple nights ago. Scotland and I had a discussion in this thread about why Wa...
