Re: Final Fantasy VII (PS1)

I'm a big fan despite the hate the game now gets. When I was younger it was the first FF game I played. I was enamored with it. I've probably put more hours into FF VII than any other game. It was just a game/setting/world that I didn't want to be finished with. I really liked the materia system for...

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road

I came here to post a similar thread and echo Velcro's thoughts. If you are a lover of action films from the 70s/80s...back when it was all done with real stunt work and practical effects then go see Fury Road. It's the best action film to come out in at least 10 years or so. The film's plot and pre...

Re: "It's terrible but I like it anyway" games

I thought of another one this morning: Brain Dead 13 (3DO/SAT/PS1) - I've always been a fan of these FMV games, but this comedic, Gothic, adventure always made me happy. The game was a constant barrage of trial and error game-play, but it had high production values. Just dying and seeing the elabora...

Re: The Horror Movie Lovers Thread

I think Prometheus certainly falls under the Sci-Fi horror category. While it's a science fiction film first, there are definitely moments meant to scare, creep out and freak out the audience. That C-section scene in particular is pretty brutal and gave me the willies lol.

Re: "It's terrible but I like it anyway" games

Here are some more broken down by system: NES Ghostbusters - Horrible game. For some reason I find it semi-enjoyable though. It's so cryptic and crappy...sometimes I feel like playing it though. Solar Jetman - Not really a horrible game...but it's super hard. I really like it. It does seem to have i...

Re: "It's terrible but I like it anyway" games

Good call with Friday the 13th and Jaws on the NES. Both of them have terrible reputations but I still enjoy them. I've played Jaws more times than any sane person should. I had it growing up and me and my brother just liked the challenge of trying to beat it. Once you know what you're doing it's li...

IGA returns with new "Metroidvania" style game

One of the main creators of the game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is kickstarting his newest project. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night?ref=nav_search Much like Mega Man's creator left Capcom and then went on to kickstart a new franchise...IGA is doing t...

Re: Retro VGS Console

I've got my eyes on this. It's gonna be about the support that it gets. Price point and support. How much are people willing to pay for 16-32bit hardware these days? If the console costs more than $100 it will have an uphill battle. Realistically the thing should cost $50. However, if they price it ...
