Re: Happy 25th Birthday Sega CD

As a retro gamer I appreciate the Sega CD more and more. What was once dismissed as a lazy cartridge port, I now prefer to play the CD version with a (usually) vastly improved kick ass soundtrack. Oddly the gaming media always lambasted games ‘that could be done on the Genesis’ seem to miss the poin...

Re: The value of downloadable games? (Part 2), and how it'll kill the hobby.

Which all rather begs the question does the game industry dislike the collectors ? Or are collectors the collateral damage in the war against used game re-sellers ?

Re: RCA Studio II (1977) - console and games review - 40th Birthday Bonanza

Found this today: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/209519-rca-studio-ii-gold-mine-an-interview-with-the-studio-2-production-manager/?fromsearch=1 Someone on AtariAge apparently found the head of RCA's video game department and got him to answer a bunch of questions. Haven't read it all yet, but it'...

Re: Blade Runner 2049

I thought it was pretty good, they tried to keep the aesthetic similar. It’s almost GTA esq as in it’s (almost) a different story in the same world. To be honest I don’t think it needed the Deckard/Rachel parts at all it should have been brave enough to stand on its own. I would say it doesn’t have ...

Re: My system is better than your system

So my Speccy is better than your C64 My ST is better than your Amiga It amazes me that systems so perfectly unsuited to games were ever able to draw a following based on games, against hardware that could actually scroll a screen without choking to death. Britain in the '80s was a strange, dark pla...

Re: My system is better than your system

It’s a strange tribal behaviour rather like your sports team. I’d love to say I’m above it....but I’m not. So my Speccy is better than your C64 My ST is better than your Amiga And any Sega console is definitely better than the equivalent Nintendo console always and forever. Ahhh that’s better :mrgre...

and didn't have a lot of disposable income, it was nice to buy a $25-$40 game knowing I could be entertained by that 1 title for 4-6 months Yes once I moved from the Spectrum and ST, which thanks to the rampant piracy on those systems never left me short of games to play. Onto consoles I like you l...

Game Sack covered this, Darius is one of two games that are ‘Supergrafx Enhancesd’. If I remember correctly it’s some extra sprites onscreen or parallax scrolling, nothing significant. I could be wrong though.

Play as many games as you can or play less games to death ?

This didn’t start until the HD era when I got my PS3 and subsequently a PS4. Over the last couple of years I’ve not played many games numbers wise on these modern consoles. I liked to fully enjoy and see all that these games offer and have generally also played for trophies. But only having around a...

Re: Seedi Optical Disc Retro System

I do like the sound and look of these retro consoles and this on in particular looks cool. But I just cannot escape the feeling that I can just plug my laptop in the TV and use those emulators.
