Re: C64 mini console

Most (all ?) of the C64’s best games were published by third parties making licensing a bit of an issue.
That being said there are some bona-fide classics on here (Skool Daze !) so looks an interesting purchase.

Wish they could get Great Giana Sisters and Katakis on there though.

Re: What is your Holy Grail?

I'm going to echo that Panzer Dragoon Saga would be mine. I am an original Saturn Owner, and remember seeing it in magazines at the time, and I was a big fan of the series. I'm in the position financially that probably in the next year or 2 I can start actually collecting, and the first big money g...

Re: A New Bubsy Game...

I’ve watched some gameplay footage and to be fair it’s nowhere in the league of the previous games and it looks a decent platform romp.
Biggest issue is the price, more than Sonic Mania !
If this was in the £5 - £10 range I think it would have a decent take up.
Maybe it will end up on PS+ someday.

Re: What Console to Buy This Holiday?

Will third that. PS4 has great exclusives, receives the best third party titles and (not often praised on this site) but a very good digital library of indie games and retro games with the arcade archive series and PS classics. However the Switch offers something unique and a game library that stand...

Re: What is your Holy Grail?

The Pioneer Laseractive with the Mega LD attachment. Feel it’s a piece of Sega history I’m missing (despite the fact they only actually produced one game of their own on it). Have you seen this? http://www.ebay.com/gds/Thinking-of-getting-a-Pioneer-LaserActive-Read-this-/10000000016837892/g.html Fo...

To bring a bit of objectivity to this thread it’s clear they are both in different parts of the market.
Which is a good thing as it brings diversity to the market.

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

I have been spending some time with the Miner Willy series. Still fun (and tough) games. They are platform games, but also puzzle games (sort of). Requiring you to figure out each screen and how best to clear them whilst collecting the items. Emulation is definitely the way to go here though. The ga...

Re: Fall of Cybertron

Wow it’s nearly 4 years since I played War for Cybertron ! Finally got round to picking Fall of Cybertron up for a measly £7. Took me a couple of levels to get the controls down but I’m really starting to have fun now. The biggest improvement so far is level variety. Cliffjumpers stealth level was a...
