Re: Obscure Systems

I'll add one more - its also part of the Atari Video Pinball unit along with the pinball variants (some use flippers, some use a pong paddle) and the breakout/breakthrough, and that's BASKETBALL. What makes this different from a pong game (although its obviously is descended from it, is that you *b...

Re: This months's free PS+ games

PS+ games have been really good of late, I’ve added them all to my library (a lesson learned from the PS3). But haven’t got round to playing any yet. Sonic Mania is still taking up all my play time. Great idea for a thread. Never played a telltale game, I’m sure I have another (Walking Dead maybe ?)...

Behold, the Philips Tele-Spiel, from 1975: http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=2&c=664 Looks like the usual PC-50x / Telstar Arcade style system although perhaps released earlier ? Pong Story has a good page dedicated to it: http://www.pong-story.com/spiel.htm But just looking a...

Dogfight - Odyssey (Via OdySim) 1972 D7A87FF1-507F-4D5B-936B-46E5370BB4FF.png This is one of the four ‘Rifle’ games. We actually found this game mildly entertaining. Probably because it feels like an actual video game. One player controls the Red Baron (or white square) and must follow the flight pa...

Cat and Mouse - Odyssey (via OdySim) 1972 A0C1A13B-1810-4ECF-BAC7-19778A05BAA8.png Despite this looking like another convoluted board game hybrid for the Odyssey. Cat and Mouse is actually a simple chase and ‘tag’ game. Player 1 is the mouse and starts on the mouse icon, player 2 is the cat and star...

Re: Star wars the last jedi spoilers ahead.

I loved it. I kept waiting for Leia to die and then when she came back unexpectedly, well, it kept surprising me. Luke drinking dragon's milk, um, yeah, I didn't see that coming. That to me was the first time I've ever watched a 2 and half hour long movie and never once checked my watch to see if i...

Re: PS2-Activision Anthology

Played this game a lot over the holiday, some of the best Atari 2600 games on one disc! Stampede is a fun game. Some games I did have to look up how to play. About the challenges to unlock commercials, iron on patches, and game modes, they are tough. I do wonder if the critic thinks these challenge...

Re: Playing video games in lieu of watching Star Wars prequels

I’ve read about the Machete order and everyone praises it. I will finally try this myself. The best parts are with this order: 1) You notice Luke at the beginning of Return of the Jedi is acting just like Anakin from the end of "Revenge of the Sith." He even force chokes a couple guards a...

Yes they are aging very badly, which seeing as they weren’t very good to begin with only adds credence to their much maligned status.
