Re: Atari Anthology (PS2)

Missile Command (2600 version) After finally pulling myself away from Warlords on the 2600 I find myself with another brilliant arcade port by Atari. I've got to say thus far I've been really impressed by how Atari 'brought the arcade home'. I actually prefer this version over the arcade original. I...

OK I admit it mobile gaming sucks

I've been a strong advocate of mobile gaming for some time. The touch screen interface suits RPG's, Point and click adventures and FMV perfectly and if you stick to games that suit the control scheme there is plenty of fun to be had. And that still holds true. HOWEVER ! I've just tried to play some ...

6). Streets of Rage 2. Sega Mega Drive / Genesis Released: 20/12/1992 Released during the time of Sega's hottest streak. When they finally had a larger market share than Nintendo thanks mainly to titles like Sonic, Ecco and of course Streets of Rage 2. One of Sega's marketing tactics during this per...

Re: Movies/TV you've exposed your kids to.

We just watched Gremlins 1 & 2. They loved them. My youngest said they were a little scary. I remember being a little creeped out by the 1st gremlins when one of the Gremlins got cooked in the microwave. I was 7 when I saw it for the 1st time. Ahh yes my daughter also enjoyed Gremlins 2. My wif...

Re: Why I'm dropping Trophy hunting

I'm not all that concerned with platinums though. Completion for completion's sake doesn't appeal to me. Yeah that's what I'm trying to get at. I presume your enjoying The Evil Within and want another way to play through the game ? I was similar with Bioshock I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to s...

Why I'm dropping Trophy hunting

I've previously been a big advocate of trophies/achievements and still believe they add longevity to games. However I now feel in my quest to 'platinum' my PS4 games and the time required to do so is making me miss out on other great titles. I only get approx 60-90 minutes game time a day (work and ...

Re: 2015/5/9: Atari 5200: Mario Bros., Realsports Soccer, Realsports Tennis

I found the Critic's descriptions of crabs and fireballs in the review of the version of Mario Bros. for Atari 5200 systems rude and unnecessary. Come on Mario everything is in context and it matches the humour of the site. The world does have profanity (although it is very mild here) and when done...

Re: Video games/arcades in movies/TV

There is also a great scene in Robocop 2 where the corrupt officer gets smashed around an arcade by our favourite cyborg.

Re: My daughter and I have gotten into Star Trek

Star Trek is truly an institution. I wouldn't dismiss the Next Generation movies. The chemistry isn't as strong as the original cast but First Contact is one of my favourite Star Trek films. When I was at home I would watch Star Trek every Sunday after tea and had all the movies and series upto Vota...

Re: Mortal Kombat X

Looking forward to the review, this hasn't been on my radar as I've not touched Mortal Kombat since the second one on 32x.
I'm generally prefer the Street Fighter series and stick with those for my fighting games these days. But I've heard nothing but praise for Mortal Kombat X.
