Re: Console Wars (book)

Just finished this book and must say I'm disappointed with the final few chapters. The book does a great job of telling the story of how Sega went from 5% market share to 55%. The other side of the tale (ie Sega's fall) is skimmed over. I know the book is based around Tom Kalinski's time there but h...

Re: Atari Anthology (PS2)

Video Pinball I can't agree with the Critic on this one, it's certainly not a bad game but I found it tremendously frustrating the longer I played. The nudge mechanic is neat but the ball seems to spend more time travelling horizontally than vertically and a lot of the time I felt the ball homed in ...

Re: Idea for a Theme Week

Like the idea and it's something that we could mix up. A particular system, series, genre, generation, time period. Might be an idea to make it longer than a week so more people get chance to join (fortnightly ?). Perhaps a vote system for the next 'now playing' theme would be good too ? Also some m...

Re: 2015/5/2: Game Gear: NBA Jam, NBA Jam Tournament Edition

I'm a huge Sega fan but I just can't get into Game Gear. It's library is either stripped down MegaDrive ports or straight Master System ports.
Apart from the two Shinobi games I can't think of any exclusives or games that you would get the Game Gear version over it's console siblings

Re: Uncharted isn't very good...

Bioshock and Uncharted are probably my favourite titles from last generation but the posts on here have opened an interesting question. Will the majority of PS3/X360 games be products of their time ? As I stated I loved Bioshock immensely and rated Uncharted highly but did I play them at the right t...

Re: Uncharted isn't very good...

Interesting view. Personally I loved this game so much that it's one of the few I went on to get 100% trophies. I would urge you to stick with it because as you become adapted to the controls and the better weapons appear the fire fights aren't as frustrating (I hated the one near the plane though) ...

Re: Favorite Horse Racing Game

I can remember me and my friends regularly playing Daily Double Horse Racing on the ST. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st-daily-double-horse-racing_21205.html It's more of gambling sim but it was enjoyable with a group. I tried to play again recently but without friends to compete with and rid...

Re: Why did the NES do so well in the US

So, for America, there was still the years 1983 to 1987 where a competitor to the NES could have arisen but did not. I may have to investigate that time period more, and see what the actors left on the US stage were and were not doing during those years. That's a great question right in there. We k...

Re: PSN Gold Week sale on "Japanese influenced" games

There are some great sales on PSN, especially if your a PS+ member.
Thanks for the post pt.
RPG's aren't really my bag I like the occasional one but much prefer them portable. But the HD Devil May Cry collection looks tempting.
