Sega was brave bringing these super scaler games to the Master System. But they are ok for what they are.
Just wish Sega had released Thunderblade for the Saturn.

Have you tried the Master System version ? Plays like the NES titles but it's own unique game.

Why are there so many caveats? Like, why no sprite based games or handheld titles? This is an entirely subjective question to ask, so it's not really inconceivable for someone to prefer hand drawn 2D over "mind blowing" 3D games. You might as well ask what the most technically impressive ...

Best 'period' games.

I really enjoy games that take back to a certain period or use that era as a setting e.g. BioShock and Fallout 3/4 with their 50's styling and of course GTA Vice City for the 80's.

Anyone got any suggestions in a similar vain ? Any good games set in the 60's, 70's or 80's ?

I've not used MAME in along time, but recently fancied some arcade action. Good review Scotland is the TI-99 worth exploring for us uninitiated ? Not sure if it saw a release in the U.K. So would probably go the emulator route.

I'm seriously considering PC and Steam after I've had 5 years out of my PS4.

This Grandstand PC-50x model uses celebrity endorsement on the box using Kevin Keegan a popular footballer in the 70's advertising it as a 'TV sports centre'.

You reminded me I have this game somewhere never really played as it didn't grab my attention quickly enough. Will have to give it another go.
