Re: Should we play bad games for ourselves?

I think that is the point the thread is trying to make. I was just thinking, might games be made out to be worse bad, and people exaggerate upon how bad they are? This happens constantly . For many people, a "bad" game is a game that makes them feel confused or helpless because it doesn't...

Re: Games the VGC Didn't Review (Yet), for Systems Nearing Completion

Dang! How much time did you spend compiling this list? I can't bother to even read the whole list yet alone imagine how much time you must've spent creating this. Ha! Fortunately I didn't do it all at once, since at least half of it is a compilation of old posts -- I put together the Inte...

Re: Video Games 1 (TI99)

At least as a kid, Parsec always seemed like the system's killer app. It might not shine as brightly now but I still quite like it, especially with speech synthesis. Alpiner is great fun for a while, but I was very disappointed to learn that it doesn't have a proper ending! The manual makes it sound...

The US Virtual Boy library is complete, but here are the remaining Japanese games: Innsmouth no Yakata (JPN) SD Gundam Dimension War (JPN) Space Invaders: Virtual Collection (JPN) Virtual Bowling (JPN) Virtual Lab (JPN) All of them appear playable without the Japanese language -- or if you prefer, t...

Re: Virtual Boy Multicart?

Sadly, I don't know of one that's currently being made -- I'd love to have a FlashBoy Plus, but they go for $200+ on Ebay these days. :( Excited to read that you're continuing with your Virtual Boy reviews, though!

Re: 2017/4/27: Lynx: Baseball Heroes, Ninja Gaiden III

Also, does the Lynx version have limited continues like the NES version? If not, and they're unlimited, then it would remove one of the biggest annoyances of NG3 on the NES, thus helping to justify a higher grade.

Re: AtariAge down?

^It's a false positive based on a single attachment in an old thread. I think it's been reported to the company, but they haven't taken any steps to remove the false positive. Really stupid stuff -- not that that's any surprise from antivirus software makers, who almost never have their customers' b...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

BTW is the C64 the only system for which you plan to have an in-house guest reviewer? I'm wondering if someday there'll be an Apple II Critic or Amiga Critic under your aegis. These old computer systems still have fanbases and more than that, creative hobbyists making homebrew games and better stil...

Re: 2017/4/21: Commodore 64: Laser Squad

Posted a new Commodore 64 review for your reading pleasure (and feedback). Just to confirm, this is written by the C64 Critic, right? Somehow the phrase "multi-year man-crush" doesn't sound like your usual style -- <seinfeld>not that there's anything wrong with that.</seinfeld> ...

Re: RPGs for people who aren't fans of the genre?

Tower of Doom - that'll work! I'm not the biggest Inty fan, but the system is growing on me over time. I really like the AD&D / Cloudy Mountain game and I have toyed about with Tower of Doom. Graphically, its quite a game for the Intellivision. Looks like The Critic gave it a B+. I may have to ...
