Re: 2017/4/27: Lynx: Baseball Heroes, Ninja Gaiden III

Also, does the Lynx version have limited continues like the NES version? If not, and they're unlimited, then it would remove one of the biggest annoyances of NG3 on the NES, thus helping to justify a higher grade.

Re: AtariAge down?

^It's a false positive based on a single attachment in an old thread. I think it's been reported to the company, but they haven't taken any steps to remove the false positive. Really stupid stuff -- not that that's any surprise from antivirus software makers, who almost never have their customers' b...

Re: The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

BTW is the C64 the only system for which you plan to have an in-house guest reviewer? I'm wondering if someday there'll be an Apple II Critic or Amiga Critic under your aegis. These old computer systems still have fanbases and more than that, creative hobbyists making homebrew games and better stil...

Re: 2017/4/21: Commodore 64: Laser Squad

Posted a new Commodore 64 review for your reading pleasure (and feedback). Just to confirm, this is written by the C64 Critic, right? Somehow the phrase "multi-year man-crush" doesn't sound like your usual style -- <seinfeld>not that there's anything wrong with that.</seinfeld> ...

Re: RPGs for people who aren't fans of the genre?

Tower of Doom - that'll work! I'm not the biggest Inty fan, but the system is growing on me over time. I really like the AD&D / Cloudy Mountain game and I have toyed about with Tower of Doom. Graphically, its quite a game for the Intellivision. Looks like The Critic gave it a B+. I may have to ...

Re: RPGs for people who aren't fans of the genre?

[H]ow about a Rogue-like? They have many RPG elements like levelling, loot, inventory management, and the general atmosphere, but are often short games, with a clear death at the end. Consoles are not the usual home for these, but Fatal Labyrinth on the Genesis comes to mind. That's why I suggested...

Tower of Doom for Intellivision, and Dungeons of Daggorath on the Tandy CoCo.

Games in the Worms series, for sure. My wife and I have put close to 100 hours into the Dreamcast releases.

One more and I will cease with my OCD ways!! Add The Dreadnaught Factor for Intellivision to the list. Totally missed this post just now! Please, don't cease with your OCD ways -- they're perfect for a list like this. :D I'll edit the OP right now, which will reappear once it's approved by the mods...

Re: Games the VGC Didn't Review (Yet), for Systems Nearing Completion

Here's the Sega CD unreviewed list, which is longer but still represents over 50% completion for that console (at least for official US games). There are tons of worthy games here that deserve reviews -- so, something to look forward to! EDIT: Moved list to first post to unclutter the thre...
