Re: Retro-bit Generations console review

I was interested in this device until I read and watched some reviews. Although the VGC's review is somewhat more positive, even his review is not much of a recommendation. Nice concept, poor execution.

Re: Atari Flashback Portable confirmed for Fall 2016

I've only been disappointed with Battlezone, the Juno First and Rally-X homebrews don't work. The creator of Juno First has released a patched version of this ROM that now runs on the AFP. You can find out more if you search for Juno First on the Atariage web site. I've tried it and it looks pretty...

Re: Christmas Loot

I bought myself an Atari Flashback Portable, a copy of 'NOX/Death Race' for the Vectrex, and a copy of 'Rebooteroids' for the Atari Jaguar.

Re: Most Unreliable Console?

I've found consoles to be generally pretty reliable. I'm trying to think of one that failed. Except for a 1977 6-switch Atari that needed a regulator replaced, I've never had a console break down.

Now _controllers_... there's a different story.

Re: Booze!

I'm pretty much a craft beer drinker, and usually only have two or three beers over say a week. I often go weeks without a beer, then get hit with a bit of a craving. I'll pick up a six-pack or two of decent stuff, finish them off, and then not have a beer for a month or so. I stay away from the che...

Re: Atari Flashback Portable confirmed for Fall 2016

I ordered one from bedbathandbeyond a week or so ago. I received mine yesterday, and loaded up an old SD card with a few favorite ROMs while waiting for the unit to charge. I haven't played it much, just a minute or two each with maybe 15 or 20 different games. Pro : + Emulation seems pretty good. I...

Re: Miniature NES with 30 built-in games

I'm not surprised by the demand. You could see this coming for months now. Lots of video games and consoles are hyped this way: deliberately create viral interest on the internet, release just a few copies, act all 'surprised' that you couldn't meet demand, and sit back while the hype train pulls ou...

Re: Classic Games get no respect?

I have several 8-bit systems: I prefer the older games to newer ones. When I see a friend playing a game like Skyrim, Uncharted, etc. the graphics are very impressive - but is the game play itself really any different? Jump from this platform to that one, shoot the moving target, flip the switches i...
