Re: Minecraft for PS3

Another great review! I've never gotten past the tutorial in Minecraft because I just felt it wasn't for me, but now I'm not so sure that's true. Some of what you said reminds me a lot of Monster Hunter, another game that burdens the player with assigning meaning and narrative to their experiences....

Minecraft for PS3

Video Game Review: Minecraft for PS3 and 360 It’s rare that I’m as surprised by a game as I was by Minecraft. When it first came out on PC, I saw it and thought it looked boring, and couldn’t understand why it was so popular. Even when my friends started singing its praises, I couldn’t care less. Al...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

On a slightly different topic, are any of you excited for Dragon's Dogma Online? Or, at least excited to learn more about it?

Re: Dragon's Dogma

I was worried a at first because of all the negative reviews I've seen, but this game is surprisingly addicting. The beginning especially caught my attention when the dragon was telling you to "come forge another link in the endless chain." It reminded me of the prologue I'm the first Whee...

Dragon's Dogma

After playing almost nothing but JRPGs for the past several months, I decided I needed a change of pace and bought Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. I've never played DD before, but I figured why not go ahead and buy what is essentially the GOTY edition? It's pretty fun so far, and I don't find the chatt...

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2 for PS3 and 360

Yeah, even on easy mode those last two fights with Caius and Jet Bahamut took me a couple tries. And also yeah, the soundtrack is amazing. It's got no the epic and whimsical tracks. Caius' theme is my favorite for how dramatic it is... but you know, you just can't beat: "So you think you can ri...

Re: Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for PS1

I don't know. Is the story in the first game important for playing the second?

Re: Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for PS1

Thanks for a really well written review. I remember at the time that it got great reviews and even a friend recommended it. Funny how Silicon Knights went on to make one of the best games for the Gamecube, Eternal Darkness, and then downhill from there. Maybe it was better back in the day. Did they...

Re: Video Game Clichés?

Mmorpgs... You, along with three or four fellow adventurers are gonna save the world. You'll kill this giant dragon, you'll find that hidden sacred sword. You're a true hero, and, you're unique!! Yay! Ther's only one problem, why then do you keep crossing paths with other adventurers with the exact...

Re: Video Game Clichés?

Those are pretty good. I can probably use the one about each town only having one of each type of shop. But I probably should have mentioned that the game it takes place in is an MMORPG like Warcraft, so the world isn't entirely dependent on what one person does, like the bridge being out so you can...
