Buying Fortnite?

I've been really excited for Fortnite for a long time, and they just recently released a physical version of it on PS4... along with the promise that it will go 100% free to play sometime next year. As much as I want this game, I don't want it bad enough that I can't wait till I can get it for free....

Re: 2017/9/17: Xbox One: Final Fantasy XV

Here are my thoughts. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I think the combat works fine. I was hoping for a direct port of Kingdom Hearts' combat into a Final Fantasy game, but what they give us is all right. I agree that Noctis is bland, but I disagree about the other characters being undeveloped. S...

Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)

The original Donkey Kong Country trilogy on SNES were the first three games I ever played, so I'm crazy nostalgic for them. I just got Returns for the Wii, and I'm not impressed. The game isn't bad, but it doesn't feel like Donkey Kong anymore. The old games were simple, but they were charming, chal...

Re: Dark Souls II: Scholars (PS4)

After reviewing DSII, I'm playing through SotfS as well so I can hopefully review that version too. Honestly I think I like the original version of the game better. They "updated" Scholars by throwing in high level enemies where they don't belong. It's harder, yes, but not in a fun way. Li...

"IT"

I went to see the new "IT" movie on Monday, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Was I scared? Not really, but I was entertained. I liked seeing all the different forms Penniwise took to terrorize the kids, and some of them were really creative. Like the lady in the painting-- I lov...

Waluigi is Uncircumcised

Today I was shown this article, and it is just so... WHAT?! that I had to share it with all of you. So yeah, Nintendo just confirmed that Waluigi is uncircumcised. Why? I have no idea.

Funny Easter Eggs?

I just started playing Batman: Arkham Knight, and I found possibly the funniest Easter egg I've ever seen. It's a wanted poster hanging on the wall for "Sarah York the Marshmallow Thief. Born: in your nightmares. Build: like a boss. Trade: ridding the world of marshmallows. Eyes: shifty. Peculu...

Dogfighting games?

So, one of this month's free PS+ games is Strike Vector Ex, a futuristic flying/dogfighting game. While I suppose it's well made and looks all right, I can't help but wonder: is there actually a good way to play these kinds of games? I was stuck on level 2 for almost an hour, and I'm not sure if it'...

Re: The Games of Autumn

If you're looking for new scary games, you could check out the Outlast collection or the Amnesia collection on PS4. Outlast is a classic "breakout in the insane asylum" setting, but Amnesia is more supernatural and Lovecraftian. Both feature the same "run and hide from the bad guys&qu...

Minigames?

If a bigger game offers minigames as a distraction, like Blitzball in Final Fantasy X or fishing in Ocarina of Time, how much time do you generally spend playing them? Unless it has a real effect on gameplay, like helping my character level up or something, or at least opens up some interesting cuts...
