Re: The Games of Autumn

If you're looking for new scary games, you could check out the Outlast collection or the Amnesia collection on PS4. Outlast is a classic "breakout in the insane asylum" setting, but Amnesia is more supernatural and Lovecraftian. Both feature the same "run and hide from the bad guys&qu...

Minigames?

If a bigger game offers minigames as a distraction, like Blitzball in Final Fantasy X or fishing in Ocarina of Time, how much time do you generally spend playing them? Unless it has a real effect on gameplay, like helping my character level up or something, or at least opens up some interesting cuts...

Re: RetroPie?

All right, I'm giving this a shot. I'm using RetroArch and I've downloaded two SNES games from Openemu. Downloaded the correct core to play SNES games. But now all the tutorials I'm reading say it should be able to detect these files, but it doesn't. I've got them in my downloads folder, but when I ...

Maybe not for much longer, seeing as they're doing everything they can to get rid of turn based combat. Shame, too. I much prefer real time action, but it feels wrong somehow to just phase it out like we're doing...

7 Days to Die?

Has anyone here played 7 Days to Die? I kinda want to try it out, but at the same time I'm wary. The reviews I've read are divided pretty much down the middle, half saying that it's buggy but the good outweighs the bad, and the other saying that it's so buggy that it's unplayable. What do you guys t...

Re: Does Nintendo hate money?

Let me present a different perspective. I'm not sure if I fully believe the perspective I'm about to throw out, but it may have some truth. Plus, the "Nintendo is dumb" perspective has been well represented here, so let me play the "Nintendo is smart" side for a moment: Many of ...

Re: Does Nintendo hate money?

Companies do not hold back on stock to create artificial scarcity. I'm not sure why people think this. It makes no sense for Nintendo to be holding stock in a warehouse, not shipping units out just to create buzz. No company would ever do this. (I shouldn't say no company, but no successful company...

Re: Does Nintendo hate money?

I talked with my coworker about this yesterday. He can't make heads or tails of the NES and SNES Classic shortages either. He says they're treating it like a collectable, but that doesn't make sense because they're charging so little for it. If they wanted to make a rare collectable for superfans, t...

Re: SNES Classic Announced

I called Gamestop and they literally answered the phone, "Thanks for calling Gamestop. We don't have any Super Nintendos." I hung up without saying a word. So yeah, screw this I think. If Nintendo is that determined not to take my money, I'll shell out for one of those Raspberry Pis and ge...
