Re: The Decline of Electric Guitars

Those are interesting points brought up by SpaceGuitarist. And lol at Outkast being on a best albums of the 90's list. I think that starting in the mid to late 00's there was a lo-fi movement that took over (or terrorized) rock music. And surf rock became popular again too. It was what I consider a ...

Re: Favorite Lyricists?

I also think Michael Stipe writes amazing lyrics. They conjure up an image in your head. I was always amazed at the consistency of his lyrics over the years. They were still right on even in the mid 90's.

Re: The Decline of Electric Guitars

I should have been more clear. What I should've said is there hasn't, in my opinion, been an iconic pop rock band since Nirvana. I like a lot of pop rock, from Warrant, to Nirvana, and there haven't been that many classic bands the last 20 years in that regard. Now, I also like different kinds of me...

Re: The Decline of Electric Guitars

That was a really interesting post by SpaceGuitarist. To be honest, I think the reason guitar music has declined is that there hasn't been a truly great band since the early 90's. There needs to be a band as great as Nirvana to get rock back on the map, preferably with extremely accessible, memorabl...

Re: Favorite Lyricists?

I also think that Art Alexakis is a great lyricist. And I agree the first two albums are the best. They went unbelievably pop after that lol. I think Kurt Cobain was great too. I think that his lyrics were just vague enough that they weren't too obvious, but not too vague that you can't say you don'...

Re: Just how bad are the Star Wars prequels?

I think the plots were good for the prequels but the casting was horrific. Everyone blames Hayden Christensen for being bland, but the supporting cast didn't help at all. It takes two for there to be no chemistry and Natalie Portman I guess for some reason found Hayden Christensen repulsive, because...

Re: 2017/6/4: Jaguar: Breakout 2000

I love the Jaguar reviews too. What I always say is there are a lot of systems that didn't have an amazing first year and a half that end up being success stories. It just so happens the Jag didn't get a 2nd wave of games.

Smear Campaign is a favorite of mine. I also think Bill Steer from Napalm Death and Carcass was amazing too.
