Re: Legacy PC/Mac gaming

I've been getting nostalgic about the old days of PC gaming. I miss the old Front Page Sports Football games and how amazing they were as well. I think those were the first games ever to have a dynasty mode. And NHL Hockey, which was released in 1993, was the computer port to NHL 94, but it had a lo...

Re: Where are all the games?

I've noticed it too and I think it's the downloads. And less companies are making games.. How can a lot of companies make games these days? Every single game apparently needs to be so realistic that it just costs so much. It's a joke. It's like the PS1 "rule" of no 2d games the rule now is...

Re: 2015/4/24: Jaguar: NBA Jam Tournament Edition

I think the players in general look smaller than other versions and maybe that has part to do with why it's hard to differentiate their height. There's probably a lot more court to work with. Which I'd welcome considering it can get a little cramped in the other console versions. Anyways, great revi...

NFL Blitz (N64)

I saw yesterday that one of the lowest rated N64 games is NFL Blitz Special Edition. I always loved the original NFL Blitz for the N64. It's got great arcade like gameplay. It's funny too because it was made the year Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf got drafted. And they made Ryan Leaf ridiculously good...

Re: 2015/4/24: Jaguar: NBA Jam Tournament Edition

I think it's awesome this port actually was released considering what was going on with the Jaguar at that stage. I too found the SNES way better than the Genesis one because of the awkward turbo. I didn't realize that this version is the only one with music. I think it's awesome, if there was one g...

Re: Why did the NES do so well in the US

I think a lot had to do with Super Mario Bros. It's one of the best games of all time. Sure the NES came out in 1985 in select markets (imagine being one of those few people in NYC that had SMB that fall), but it didn't really become widely available until around 1987 I think. I guess officially the...

Re: All the way through?

I'm only familiar with the All Stars version, and it's just way too hard in some places to beat it without dying. But I don't think it should be difficult to beat it on 1 continue. You can use that secret way to get extra lives at the end of each level, and grab others. I do think it may be borderli...

Re: Retro VGS

My main complaint, is that it doesn't appear to be doing anything new with 2d. I mean, imagine Metal Slug or Blazing Star but with modern technology. I always bring up the clips from the Jag's Native demo, and nothing like that has ever came out. We could have a Contra game that would be unbelievabl...

Re: Retro VGS

The game actually looks nice. Like maybe it was more than just one guy in his basement. The graphics seemed like a step above the NES. I really hope something like this catches on, but again, I have very little expectations. Games, even like the one we saw, need teams that are well funded. And I'm t...

Re: General Conversation forum?

We have had threads where we talked about what music members like and stuff like that. I kind of like that the site doesn't have all sorts of miscellaneous types of forums.
