Re: Gears of War 4 headaches

Since patches are not going away, what can be done? For instance, should games be released in sections, like a Telltale game? Should developers open games up for large scale 'early access' to the biggest users of the previous iteration for a few weeks? I do like how many Steam games do exactly that...

Re: Gears of War 4 headaches

Unless you were in Japan, I believe you mean 1985 or 1986. In 1983, you were playing something cool like a Coleco, Inty, or Atari. Or your C64. :) You got me Atarifever, I meant 1985. It was so long ago I couldn't remember when it was released, so I checked Wikipedia and got snookered into putting ...

Re: Gears of War 4 headaches

I remember WAY back in 1983, on the Nintendo Entertainment System... when you wanted to play a 2-player game with your buddy in the same room, you put your cartridge in the console, turned it on, selected "two player" from the game menu, handed you buddy the other controller, and you were ...

I bet if you just took your PS4 online and downloaded the latest patch for Titanfall 2, it'd rectify your crash problems :)

Re: 2016/11/30: Nintendo 64: Goldeneye 007, 007: The World Is Not Enough, Perfect Dark

Again, all I hear is multiplayer as if that should have any bearing on how good the game is. And sure for all I know there is a revolutionary way of playing FPS's and the control scheme renders Goldeneye obsolete and no one should touch it with a 10 foot pole. You can't look at it from an FPS persp...

Re: 2016/11/30: Nintendo 64: Goldeneye 007, 007: The World Is Not Enough, Perfect Dark

What do you mean when you state "this game hasn't aged well"? It can't just be graphics because Warlords and Adventure have very primitive graphics, yet they're considered timeless classics. Just curious. As someone who helped play-test these titles with the Critic for his revision, I can...

Re: 2016/10/25: Playstation 2: Fatal Frame III: The Tormented

Very timely review, perfectly seasonally appropriate. Interestingly enough, just the day after you published this review someone else put out a review/reminiscence about the previous entry in the series, Fatal Frame II. A great read for anyone who enjoys this type of game: http://kotaku.com/fatal-fr...

Re: 2016/10/19: Intellivision: Dracula, Tutankham

I dunno man, I think you should have left the Dracula score up at C+. Sure, it gets a bit repetitive but don't almost all games on those old systems (Intellivision, Collecovision, Atari 2600/5200)? The uniqueness and flourishes of that game really deserve a slightly better score methinks.

Re: 2016/10/2: Xbox One: Just Cause 3

I would like to recommend yet again that you take Just Cause 2 out for a spin while it's still nominally 'summer'-ish. I can't speak for the Xbox version since I play on Steam/PC, but I've never had any crashes or slowdown issues so it sounds like it's all the mindless and destructive fun of Just Ca...
