Re: 2016/6/18: Xbox 360: Monkey Island Special Edition Collection

I clicked on the eBay link and saw the PAL versions were only about $20. Being a bit apprehensive that they'd even work on my NTSC Xbox 360 I ordered it. Low and behold it works just fine. Even though the disk said it was PAL only, I have no problems loading it up and playing around with some of th...

Re: 2016/6/18: Xbox 360: Monkey Island Special Edition Collection

I didn't know they released a disk version of these games. I clicked the link for the Amazon link. Holy crap, is this game expensive. The Ebay links were much less. (I went with that). I tried the same thing, and thought the same thing! I wonder if I can find this cheaper at my nearby Gamestop, bec...

Re: 2016/5/31: Xbox One: Doom

Red Clash, Your welcome! It amazes me how other critics fail to mention major issues like online requirements, time consuming installs, and other things that really do affect the customer. Is everybody else in cahoots with the game companies?? VGC I also second your mentioning these initial start-u...

Re: Top 50 Console Games: Part II

You make a good argument for a more inclusive list. After all, what list of classic retro games would be complete without 3D Death Chase, or 3D Ant Attack? And can the NES - or even the C64, for that matter, give me a framerate anywhere near as smooth as 3D Star Strike? The ZX Spectrum was so 3D th...

Re: Top 50 Console Games: Part II

You already gave me a heads up that no C64 games would be included in this list due to it rightly being a computer vice a true console, but I still feel the need to whinge about the lack of these great (and pretty unique) C64 games: 1) Castles of Dr. Creep 2) Raid on Bungeling Bay 3) Jumpman 4) Spac...

Re: 2016/3/13: Commodore 64: Blue Max 2001, Super Zaxxon

Blue Max was set in WWI, not WWII. Doesn't make the math work out any more realistically though. I had to go back and check the review because I had sworn I put WWI for the conflict; it now says WWI, so I'm not sure if the Critic fixed it or if you misread it but either way, yes, the original takes...

Re: 2016/2/7: Commodore 64: Blue Max, Raid on Bungeling Bay

Here are two new C64 reviews by Scott, the C64 critic. Let him know what you think! Thanks for these reviews Scott. While the description sounds like Sinistar, disrupt the building of the enemy superweapon, the pace is much slower. The healing and growing factories are a bit annoying, especially as...

Can do! I'm pretty sure I have the sequel around here somewhere, Blue Max 2001 or something like that correct?

I had completely forgotten about those Halo pens! In fact, in hindsight I can't even remember where they came from...?

Re: Funny article nails the frustrations with 8th gen consoles

Also, how is it the fault of Xbox or any of the new generation consoles that he can't remember his login credentials? I think that's just part of his overall point - it's supposed to be a gaming system, why should we even have to log into any accounts with credentials? I believe he's simply juxtapo...
