Re: 2017/5/11: Nintendo Switch: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Bomberman R

I've never played Super Bomberman R, but it's disappointing to see a classic franchise get botched so badly on a system tailor-made for local multiplayer games. I guess that's modern-day Konami for you. To think that Metal Gear Solid V may have been their last genuinely great game is...rather depres...

Re: Should we play bad games for ourselves?

This happens constantly. For many people, a "bad" game is a game that makes them feel confused or helpless because it doesn't reward them with godlike abilities from the word go, or because it's not exactly like all the other games they've already played. Games are for telling them how gr...

Re: 2017/5/9: Nintendo Switch: 1-2-Switch, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Will you still be reviewing the Wii U version (I could've swore I remember you posting about buying that one)? To my knowledge, the Wii U version is completely identical in terms of content and the Switch version looks and runs slightly better, and considering how utterly massive a game it is, it d...

Re: Switch off to a strong start

How many people are going to play this "on the go?" ...A lot of people? I highly doubt it would do as well as it's doing so far if it weren't portable, because otherwise there wouldn't be any real reason to buy the Switch version of a multiplatform game over the others besides supporting ...

Re: Computer Creates Feature-Length Film from Single Photo

The future is now.

I feel like if the algorithm for this were posted online, it would start a trend of videos from people trying to see who could produce the coolest-looking results from their own individual photos. It would be pretty entertaining at least.

Re: Should we play bad games for ourselves?

I personally think everyone should play Sonic 06 just to say they've experienced its unique brand of glitchy insanity firsthand. Videos can't really do it justice, try though they might. It's fairly cheap now, so your wallet won't hate you for it. Other games that are designed incompetently enough t...

Re: 2017/5/9: Nintendo Switch: 1-2-Switch, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Ironically, I think Breath of the Wild, in spite of being nothing short of amazing for the most part, has a number of flaws that hold it back from being an A+ game in my book. I wish there weren't so many enemies that kill you in one hit without warning until you get the dozens of Spirit Orbs necess...

Re: 2017/5/7: Playstation 4: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Capcom really needs to find a way to breathe new life into this series like they did with 4. This game was clearly their attempt to do just that, given the change to first-person perspective and the increased emphasis on horror. I personally quite enjoyed it for the most part, although I agree that...

Re: 2017/5/5: NES: Low G Man, Pinball Quest

Rock n'Ball is another unusual NES take on pinball. It's dirt cheap in spite of its obscurity and it's surprisingly original and entertaining, not to mention a good time with another player.

Tumbleseed (Switch)

This indie game has turned out to be one of the most unexpectedly creative titles I've played this year. The controls are quite unusual: you use both analog sticks to control both sides of a beam that your spherical player character rolls across. Since this game is a "roguelite" in the vei...
