When did having more than one system become common?

Growing up, me and my friends always just had one system (SNES or Genesis, 64 or PS). And I've always kept that tradition--currently just have a GameCube. I'll admit that part of that is the fun of choosing one or the other. But I read here about people having 2 or even all 3 of the big systems. Whe...

Re: What's the longest you've gone without playing a video game?

I haven't played consistently, as in more than once/month in over a decade. Just work and life and kids, etc. I have other activities I enjoy just as much, so I'm not deprived. Lol. But probably the biggest reason is that I don't like to play by myself anymore. It's just not interesting to me, with ...

Re: who agrees with dustin Hoffman..

I don't have cable and I watch practically no TV. I do like movies via Netflix though, and watch several per week. I think movies are getting way over inflated but there are still some great ones out there. I recently disliked: bird man, imitation game, theory of everything, grand Budapest, boyhood....

Re: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)

Love this game. If you were to try to describe how the throwing eggs mechanics work--while trying to jump, dodge enemies, etc--I would have told you it would be a disaster.

But somehow, it works fantastical.....

Freedom Fighters--Xbox/GC/PS2

It was a budget game that exceeded a lot of expectations. Lots of fun and easy to get in to

Is it just me, or have they been talking about Last Guardian FORVER? Seems like I remember hearing about this as the "spiritual successor"
To Ico and SOTC 5 years ago....

Re: 2015 is not a good year for the VGC

Pretty simple for me: I find the reviews about games I find interesting to be interesting, and I find the reviews about games I find to be uninteresting to be uninteresting. Makes sense? No? Lol, ok. But this seems to apply mostly to modern games. I'm always interested in 2600, NES, etc games for wh...

Re: E3 time!

I'm not really interested in Nintendo as far as the Wii U or NX goes, but I am interested in their potential mobile games. Were there any annoucents about that?

Re: E3 time!

Yeah, I was actually watching a AVGN video where he talked about how the Celecovision could play Atati games, and how something like that would NEVER happen today.

Re: E3 time!

Thanks or the replies. Interesting, as backwards compatibility was never anything we thought was possible in the NES-SNES-64-etc era, but now it seems to be an expectation. It was just weird to me that they figured that out now. I guess it wasn't originally planned, but when they saw folks hanging o...
