Re: Biggest Video Game Accomplishment

I beat NES "Ninja Gaiden" sword-only, absolutely no items, and without dying. But I've only done it once.

Here I came close, but I needed to grab one health refill before the final bosses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvtBOHDwKig

Maybe you could have an Atari 2600 "Karate" icon for the worst of the worst F- games.

"Spiders" is also a port of an arcade game. This system has some obscure ports that might make it somewhat worthwhile for collectors.

Re: Gradius/Life Force (NES)

I'm good at certain NES games. "Life Force" is definitely not one of them.

I try to play it without using the cheat code and I can't pass the third stage

Maybe some hardcore Aerosmith fan or fans are responsible for the A+.

I like how your rating for "Revolution X" is an F- and the reader rating is an A+.

Re: What Are With All The Bejeweled Clones?

And why do these mobile cookie cutter games get all the TV advertisements? 1. Candy Crush >>> Bejeweled 2. Cookie Crush >>> Bejeweled And so much more I don't even care enough to list. Remember when clones of popular games didn't hog up TV ad space and had some quirky value? Remember when great por...

Re: Why does everyone love Pac Man so much?

"Pac-Man" seems simple enough, but it does have depth. It came out in 1980 and it wasn't until 1999 that someone finally conquered it and played a perfect game. It's visually charming... one of the first arcade games to have an appealing cartoony look. It's simple enough for anyone to pick...

Re: 2016/2/10: Jaguar: Tempest 2000

Jon, I don't understand why you despise the Playstation when you claim to love early 3D and mid 90s 3D arcade titles. The Playstation came out in late 1994 and could handle ports of contemporary arcade games like "Ridge Racer", "Tekken 2" and "RayStorm." Its 3D capabili...

Re: 2015/8/29: NES: Goonies II, Kabuki Quantum Fighter, Big Nose Freaks Out

All of the stages in "Kabuki Quantum Fighter" impose time limits, not just the advanced stages.

Anyway, I felt the same way about KQF until I practiced enough to become decent at it, and finally beat it without a game over. The third stage is incredibly frustrating at first.
