Re: Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)

Well technically, NES Classic, which is nice because it has saves obviously, and because it keeps up with your time, which is nice for me because I'd like to start Speedrunning it. A few thoughts after not playing it for over 20 years. -definitely harder than SM World. I had forgotten that. -short ...

Re: 2017/3/26: Playstation: Primal Rage, Snowboarding

I don't think there's a problem with applying the budget icon to Snowboarding, because that was a cheap, no-frills title from the start. I don't think there's much ambiguity in this case. Come to think of it, the Playstation was probably the first console to have budget titles. I remember a bunch o...

Re: Movie Tie in Game that are GOOD?

Batman for the NES is only vaguely tied to the story of the film through cutscenes (including one where Batman throws the Joker off a clock tower, as Batman is known to do), but it's still a very fun, albeit difficult, Ninja Gaiden-style action-platformer with cool music. The Critic gave it a C+, b...

Re: 2017/2/21: NES: P.O.W., Astyanax

I've had POW in my collection for a few months, but just got around to playing it this weekend based on the Critic's review. I wanted to like it but couldn't get into it..it was around a C- for me. I like the sound and graphics, but the fighting is stiff and repetitive. But the worst part was the d...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a72VfVTAizM https://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8394 Something fun for fans of an 80s scifi movie, The Last Starfighter. This was an arcade game in production by Atari in 1984 - not a good year for Atari. The movie has an arcade game, Starfighter, whi...

Re: Miniature NES with 30 built-in games

I've adjusted somewhat, but keep getting stuck on SodaPop... Press down to block when he ducks down to do his uppercut. This will stun him and you can punch to get a star. Using star punches on him will knock him down instantly. You can do this twice before he starts dodging star punches, but it wi...

Re: Miniature NES with 30 built-in games

I agree that it's a fun toy for $60. I play about 15-30 minutes a night and it's just right for me. I'm mostly interested in Punch Out, Zelda, and learning to Speedrun Mario 3. May still pick up a 3DS... Unfortunately you will probably have issues with Punch Out because of lag. It's probably the mo...

It does have one of the largest and most detailed main character sprites in a NES game.

It's sort of like a NES version of the Legendary Axe. Gameplay is very similar.

Because it lacked the invincibility code?
