Re: 2015/8/29: NES: Goonies II, Kabuki Quantum Fighter, Big Nose Freaks Out

All of the stages in "Kabuki Quantum Fighter" impose time limits, not just the advanced stages.

Anyway, I felt the same way about KQF until I practiced enough to become decent at it, and finally beat it without a game over. The third stage is incredibly frustrating at first.

Re: 2016/2/4: Intellivision: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Junior

Intellivision "Donkey Kong" looks like a crude prototype or beta version that was given a rushed release. Even Atari 2600 "Donkey Kong" has a Mario that resembles Mario.

Re: question about the nes

The toploader IMO is a pretty lame console. I'm actually going to be writing about it this week over on Happy Katana. The jailbars and RF only, as well as the washed out look of games is really distracting. And the dog-bone controller isn't as comfortable. Not to mention, unless you can afford an u...

Re: question about the nes

If you get a top loader games don't always play on the first try but it is a lot more reliable. Definitely the way to go if you can pay about 100 for it. I find that games work on the first try when they're clean. You still need to clean dirty games either with q-tips and Windex/rubbing alcohol or ...

Re: question about the nes

and if i get a new 72 pin connector will i have to worry about the red light blinking ever again as long as i clean the game before playing them in the nes ? I've heard that it's better to clean and restore the original 72 pin connector because the newer ones are cheaply manufactured and not as goo...

Re: question about the nes

I bought a toploader for $100 and I love it. I haven't even gotten it modded yet. But you get used to the crappy RF and jailbars, or at least I did. It's arguably part of the console's quirky charm. I love having every cartridge work every time as long as they're clean. No having to open the console...

Re: Is there any knowledge of the Sega CD myth?

There are a lot of emulators for the Dreamcast but I can't seem to Google up a Sega CD one. I did however stumble upon a freakin' Saturn emulator for the DC. I would never have thought such a thing was possible but it exists(games are not remotely playable tho) Apparently there is a functional Play...

I beat NES "Batman" without dying

With some practice it can be done. I've been able to consistently beat it without a game over, but not without dying at least once. Unfortunately I forgot to pause and take a picture after defeating the Joker. But here's a pic from when I recently beat it after losing one life. http://i.imgur.com/ty...

Re: Offensive Icons?

There has been some talking about removing the "Chicks Dig This" or the "May Contain Hotties" icons from this site. http://videogamecritic.com/icon/i.htm While these are meant to be tongue-in-cheek (I have a "may contain chickens" icon for Pete's sake) some people find...
