Re: 2017/7/22: NES: Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom

What is the "original" you speak of?? The arcade game, which has almost nothing to do with the NES Ninja Gaiden . There were (terrible) ports for several home computers, but the only console releases I'm aware of are on the Lynx and as an unlockable bonus in Ninja Gaiden Black . When I wa...

Re: 2017/7/22: NES: Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom

Ninja Gaiden 3 is the best version of the game for those who hate mandatory checkpoints - how dare they prevent you from replaying your favorite stages after each death? Especially if the completely optional password system killed your parents, and you've sworn revenge. And hey, the more enemies yo...

Re: 2017/7/22: NES: Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom

So is the Japanese version of Ninja Gaiden 3 the better game ? Like Contra Hard Corps on Sega where the Japanese version had a life bar making it far more bearable than the western version. It's only better if you want a much easier Ninja Gaiden game. Otherwise I would say no it's not. Increasing t...

Re: 2017/7/22: NES: Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom

One correction: The fake Ryu doesn't shoot Irene. She falls from a cliff, which in the best tradition of pulp, makes sure she'll come back more powerful than ever. Unfortunately, by the time she machine guns him, he's revealing his true form, and...well, this is all completely ridiculous, but in th...

Cool. This is one of my favorite series on the NES. Nice to see that you gave a fair rating to NGIII. I've beaten all three without continuing and I've played the first one so much that I've no-deathed it using just the sword. The third is probably the toughest. It is possible to beat it without dyi...

Re: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (32X)

I had the SNES port back in the day and didn't like it much.

It's a shame that they could never do anything great with the Pitfall license beyond the Atari 2600.

Re: Oil's Well (Colecovision)

I remember playing this on my Atari computer back in the day, and thinking it was pretty good. At first this game looks like a Pac-Man clone - and an awkward one at that. You're little "eater" is attached to the top of the screen by a line, moving through an underground maze chomping whit...

Re: Sega making some moves. Subscription service?

This just looks like a Sega making a quick buck on garbage designed to give non-gamers who wouldn't notice the difference a few minutes of nostalgia. Forget about it.

Rookie1 wrote:3DO was a cool system, I had one and just sold it with all the games. I never played it. 99% of the games you can get for the PC, and they are much better quality. So its really not worth it I guess.

The Road Rash port is supposed to be the system's killer app.

Re: Can the Nintendo Switch emulate the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer hardware?

I ask because both the Nintendo Switch and 3DO Interactive Multiplayer use ARM CPU architecture which = easy Nintendo Switch Virtual Console emulation, but the question is who owns the 3DO console rights after the 3DO company went out of business in 2003? Can it happen, or will it never happen, tho...
