Re: MAME

I've not used MAME in along time, but recently fancied some arcade action. My PC is getting on a bit but really seems to be struggling to run some titles I would expect it to such as Scramble Spirits and Outrunners. Has MAME's system requirements increased ? If so what's the best MAME version for o...

Re: Worst Songs From Your Favorite Bands?

In comparison to the rest of the catalogue for these bands, which are among my favorites: Genesis - I can't dance (the song is far below par for Genesis and the video only hurts) Judas Priest - Lochness Blackfield - Go to Hell (this song really bothers me lyrically. I don't mind angry songs but thi...

Re: 2017/4/27: Lynx: Baseball Heroes, Ninja Gaiden III

Time to hit Google. Its a neat read to learn this was developed by ex Amiga people for Epyx, who shopped it around for investors. Sega could have run with it, or maybe Mattel if they wanted back in a game they knew well. So much good stuff in the Lynx. Victory is not always to the swift or stronges...

Re: 2017/4/24: Genesis: Fantasia, Mercs

I grew up with the Sega Genesis in the early 90s and Fantasia must have been such a stinker that it immediately faded into obscurity. I must have been vaguely aware of the game's existence, but I don't really recall seeing or hearing anything about it, whereas other Disney games got a lot of attenti...

Re: Nintendo SNES Mini Classic

The NES Classic came out on 11/11/16 and was announc d sometime around the start of summer, so we should hear something soon (regarding if it's true and the game list) The real question: will Nintendo quadruple production? Nintendo will produce 10, scalpers will charge $10,000 each, and Nintendo wi...

Re: Games The VGC rated too high

I've completed POW: Prisoners of War and I wouldn't rate it higher than average. The stages drag on for too long and the gameplay gets way too monotonous. It's no Double Dragon II. I would rate Bayou Billy higher than POW.

Re: Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)

Well technically, NES Classic, which is nice because it has saves obviously, and because it keeps up with your time, which is nice for me because I'd like to start Speedrunning it. A few thoughts after not playing it for over 20 years. -definitely harder than SM World. I had forgotten that. -short ...

Re: 2017/3/26: Playstation: Primal Rage, Snowboarding

I don't think there's a problem with applying the budget icon to Snowboarding, because that was a cheap, no-frills title from the start. I don't think there's much ambiguity in this case. Come to think of it, the Playstation was probably the first console to have budget titles. I remember a bunch o...

Re: Movie Tie in Game that are GOOD?

Batman for the NES is only vaguely tied to the story of the film through cutscenes (including one where Batman throws the Joker off a clock tower, as Batman is known to do), but it's still a very fun, albeit difficult, Ninja Gaiden-style action-platformer with cool music. The Critic gave it a C+, b...
