Re: Xbox One Game Pass - Netflix style gaming

Now I'm confused. I have been reading "can download" on every site and, given their odd comparison to Netflix, have assumed that meant "if you'd rather do that than stream." So it's EA Access then. A comparable subscription service only available on Xbox, that Microsoft themselv...

Re: Xbox One Game Pass - Netflix style gaming

Microsoft's service differs from PS Now by quite a bit I think. For one, the games aren't streamed. PS Now's inherent lag make certain games a pain in the ass to play. And two, Microsoft is offering current and 360 games, whereas PS Now only offers PS3 games. If anything, PS Now works similarly to N...

Re: The Switch won't launch with a Virtual Console

Sadly, with as many complaints as there are in this thread, they're still all valid and great points. It feels like Nintendo's downfall with the Switch, initially at least, is going to be death by a thousand cuts. Launch lineup is a little sparse. Unclear plan for their paid online. No virtual conso...

Dragon Quest VII and VIII (3DS)

So I was pretty late to the Dragon Quest party, first playing Dragon Quest IV on the DS in 2007, then going on to play V, VI, and IX on the DS. I had never played VII or VIII before, so I can't comment a whole lot on how they compare to the originals. Dragon Quest VII is a good game - not a great on...

Re: Problem with Metacritic

Looking at it now it says it's still a 19 with 13 reviews. One of the new reviews was a 0 from Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. If I was to guess I'd say they updated the Metacritic score without yet linking to the review, seeing as how Travers is a bigger name reviewer and the Metacritic score didn'...

Double Dragon IV for PS4/PC

Did you guys see that a new NES style Double Dragon game is releasing imminently? It's $6.99 on Steam and PSN so digital only, and is made by Arc System works. The pricing is on point I think. They may have been able to go up to $9.99, but this is now an insta-buy for me and I was never a huge Doubl...

Re: 2017/1/28: Xbox One: Gears of War 4

Typo: You said it was a first-person shooter and not a third-person shooter. I bought it on sale over the holidays and played for an hour or two split screen with a family member. I just don't get Gears of War. I feel the characters are generic, the story is generic, the weapons are generic other th...

Re: Introducing the Nintendo Switch

Yeah, it's not going to be a cheap purchase on launch day. I have the console ordered for $300, a 200GB micro SDXC card for $70, extra set of joy cons for $80, a charging grip for $30, screen protector for $8, Zelda for $60, and Bomberman for $50. Even without tax, that's $598 at launch. That's a me...

Re: Introducing the Nintendo Switch

The batteries are not user replaceable as far as I understand. And the grip for the joy cons that charges costs $30. Despite all the negativity, is anyone here still pre-ordering? I still am for a few reasons. For one, this might be the last piece of Nintendo hardware that ever gets released (kiddin...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Boom or Bust?

Eh, I have a bad feeling about this. As much as I'd love for this to be a hit, there's too many things against it right now. -The price of the console is okay, if not a little high, but the accessory prices are out of control. The dock is essentially just a dongle with an HDMI out and they're chargi...
