Re: Looks like its time for Telltale/Select Indie/Japanese Dev games to give up on PS3/Xbox 360/3DS/PS Vita now!

ReviewTechUSA? C'mon, he's the Fox News of gaming. His fantasies of being held down by the less powerful aren't limited to videogame consoles, that's for certain. And limitations have always been good for forcing more creativity out of the AAA industry - there wouldn't be Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Su...

Re: The Vita is like the Dreamcast. Also, the Saturn, 32X, and the Game Gear.

It really is for specific tastes, but I'm not into turn based JRPGs (not enough time), anime games (Poor quality control), or even Monster Hunter knock-offs. (Maybe you could recommend one that isn't Monster Hunter?) The Vita won me over based on the fighting game library - DOA 5+, Marvel vs. Capom ...

The Vita is like the Dreamcast. Also, the Saturn, 32X, and the Game Gear.

For better or for worse, it's the most Sega like console ever made by someone who isn't Sega. Just look at all the features: 1. Beautiful launch games that push it further than the many low profile indie titles which followed. 2. Proudly outside of the mainstream. Overpriced at launch, and a crushin...

You realize that the appeal of less powerful hardware is that it's not as expensive to develop for? I don't know what fantasy world you're living on, where everybody can afford to unlock the true potential of the PS4, but please come back to us.

Revolution X is the best SNES game ever made!

According to the reader reviews this morning. My own experimental F- did nothing to change that grade.

Also, the King of Fighters is best enjoyed on CD, with proper load times?

Did someone hack the site, or was this a community in-joke I missed out on?

Re: Whats wrong with this image?

Looking at the picture for Super Mario World, I'm calling a troll. At least, I'm hoping that's a troll. Please tell me that's a troll. It's so obviously radiating "I don't give a single [bleep] about your videogames", that it's really hard to believe they'd care enough about the subject to...

Re: Centipede and Missile Command Movies ?

Anything can make a good movie, in theory. Centipede is the Jabberwocky, only it used to be the hero's closest friend. Missile Command is watching a distant war, without winners - what happens before the game? When do they know they're all going to die? How do they handle it? The problem is that the...

Re: Top 50 Console Games: Part II

However, I did find a comparison someone else did of both machines to include hardware specs and technical reasons why some games might play better on one platform as opposed to the other and it can be found at http://c64vsspectrum.com/ . Bottom line, at least to this persons satisfaction the C64 i...

Re: Top 50 Console Games: Part II

You make a good argument for a more inclusive list. After all, what list of classic retro games would be complete without 3D Death Chase, or 3D Ant Attack? And can the NES - or even the C64, for that matter, give me a framerate anywhere near as smooth as 3D Star Strike? The ZX Spectrum was so 3D tha...

Re: The Deal with Sewers

Sewers were considered a fun place at the time. Remember TMNT? Besides, sewer levels began as an easy way to change things up, since a simple color palette swap meant they could reuse all their textures. As for why they're still around, I'd imagine it's because you can avoid using too much creativit...
