Re: Best Modern Arcade Style Games?

I'll second Resogun. In fact I'll add Housemarque's biggest modern titles:

Super Stardust HD (PS3, PS4)
Resogun (PS4)
Dead Nation (PS3, PS4)
Alienation (PS4)

All fantastic arcade-style shooters. All recommended.

Re: Top 5 Genesis Games

1. Shinobi III - Hands down, my favorite Genesis game. I play it at least once every two months. Incredibly fun and technically impressive. 2. Castlevania: Bloodlines - Of course a Castlevania game is gonna be on my list. In fact, my tastes have changed over the years. I like this game even more tha...

Re: not well known 2d platformers on nintendo handhelds

Drill Dozer for GBA is absolutely fantastic. One of the most underrated games on the platform.

Re: Critic - buy Resident Evil 4 on PS4!

Yeah. Of the noted issues in the modern HD versions of RE4, the only one that would matter is the original textures in the backgrounds. The textures for the characters and most of the environments are vastly superior in the remaster. But yeah, Capcom loves to cut corners so it's not as great as it c...

Critic - buy Resident Evil 4 on PS4!

Just a PSA to the VGC and others that loved the original RE4 on GameCube. This version is FANTASTIC. Yes, you may have "port fatigue" with Resident Evil 4 showing up on PS2, Wii, PS3, 360 and even mobile phones, but I'm telling you, this is the version to own. The PS3/360 was previously th...

Re: Physical Release Thread

I just pre-ordered Assault Suit Leynos from Amazon. It releases next week for PS4. It's a remake of Target Earth for the Genesis, but the Japanese game's name was Assault Suit Leynos. The next game in the series was called Assault Suit Valken, but was changed to Cybernator when it released on the SN...

Re: SNES 25th anniversary

I remember looking at pictures of launch window games in Nintendo Power: Super Mario World, Pilotwings, F-Zero, Zelda 3, Castlevania IV, Super R-Type. I couldn't believe the colors and graphics. It looked too good to be true. I made regular trips to ShopKo on my bike with friends or my older brother...

Re: The Best Console.

I'd say your pick for GOAT is a strong one. I love that system's library, the highlight being the JRPGs (Final Fantasy, Shadow Hearts, Xenosaga, Atelier Iris, Kingdom Hearts and the strongest lineup of Shin Megami Tensei games ever) and the "mascot" platformers/action games (Sly Cooper, Ja...

Re: Games everyone loves, but you don't see them as great.

As a JRPG nut, most people are surprised to learn that I dont like most Western RPGs. Especially Bethesda games. I've tried multiple times to enjoy my time with Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 3, but nope. Get bored incredibly easy and end up casting the games aside. And the combat in the Elders Scroll...

Re: Best N64 games?

You've stated many of my own picks. Including my #1 on N64, Paper Mario. My other choices: Mario Kart 64 - I'll be the first to admit it hasn't aged well, but my high school years were rooted in MP matches. Majora's Mask - Easily the most unusual and risky 3D Zelda game. Doom 64 - Deliciously rooted...
