Re: Thinking of selling my NES Top Loader

If you want improved video, you could get your top loader modded. I have mine modded and the picture is really good. Here's a site that will do a basic AV mod for $55: http://store.retrofixes.com/collections/mod-kits-repair-parts/products/nintendo-nes-101-top-loader-installation-of-trrs-av-led-add-o...

Re: Super Mario Maker

Is it just me, or are the user-created levels getting a lot better? I just played 100 Mario Challenge (normal difficulty) and starred most of the 16 courses. Not sure if anyone around here is still playing, but here are my newest creations: Uhhh...Boo? (289D-0000-00E7-5D07) Mount Vekoopius / Chompei...

Re: Super Mario Maker

My homage to classic Donkey Kong: B07A-0000-003B-6DEA - "Jumpman's Revenge" One of the first ideas I had when I got this game was to re-create all four levels of the original Donkey Kong arcade game. I guess it wasn't a very original idea since I've seen several levels that try to do the ...

Now I think I'm going to take a break from creating for a while and do some playing.

Re: Super Mario Maker

@MoarRipter: Well, thank you. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I've really been wanting to try your guys' levels, but I can't stop making my own. This game is really starting to become an obsession. Even when I'm not playing, I keep thinking about ways to improve the levels I've made. I'm ac...

Re: Super Mario Maker

I really like this game, but the perfectionist in me is having a tough time. It seems like every time I play a level I create, I find something new to edit. It took me a while, but I finally finished one. I tried to create something that was both fun and challenging but didn't feel impossible: 3FDC-...

Re: 2015/8/29: NES: Goonies II, Kabuki Quantum Fighter, Big Nose Freaks Out

Goonies II is actually a sequel to a Japanese Famicom game that for whatever reason never made it to the U.S. The first game's platforming action is similar to Goonies II, but it's more straightforward and arcade-like; there are no psuedo-3D, point-and-click-style areas like in the second game. For ...

Re: It feels good finally beating the first two Ninja Gaidens on the NES.

OMG, the Japanese "Ninja Gaiden III" is SO MUCH EASIER. I played it for the first time tonight and I finished it in a few hours. Mind you, I've never even made it past the third act in the American version. The inclusion of a password feature for a game this relatively easy is silly. When...

Re: Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (Wii)

I actually had a lot of fun with this game. It was part beat em up, part light gun game, with some vehicle stages sprinkled in. I also liked the fact that the game wasn't overly long. Really, it was just how I like my games - lots of variety with little filler. I think the VGC was right on with his ...
