Patrick McNee and the Avengers

Just read that Patrick McNee, aka John Steed of the Avengers, died. Man, I am still recovering from Christopher Lee... The Diana Rigg years are ones I have as a boxed set from a Christmas gift, and I loved that show. Mrs Peel, We're needed! Even as an American raised on Marvel Comics The Avengers, I...

Re: Nintendo Wii U games not in production already?

That's great, and I've read some people have really enjoyed the Kinect for work outs and such. I should have been more clear. I meant that MS backed off having the Kinect 2 be mandatory, which allowed them to lower the price of their console, and therefore sell more consoles without weakening the co...

Re: Nintendo Wii U games not in production already?

Interesting conversation everyone, thanks. I am thinking of my friend Atarifever's post on how Nintendo is trying new things, many successfully, and then my friend Actraisers post on how Nintendo is disappointing many at the same time. Are they tossing everything in the mix looking forward? Could ke...

Re: SuperHero TV

Y'know Tron, you may be right on casting choices. Some shows, like Six Million Dollar Man had lovely people, but I recall Hulk was a bit less glamour, more grit. Given it was still before cable, and kids watched, I doubt they could have done much more with violence. We are probably lucky we did not ...

Superb choice, Logan. While it may not be the best 2D fighter of the decade, or even the best game of the Mortal Kombat series, it is one of the two games I think of when people talk about video game violence (the other being the original Doom). Even to this day I think Mortal Kombat has a bigger my...

Re: The Final Fantasy VII Remake Thread

If you just want to be entertained, buy today's games and never look back. Nothing wrong with just wanting to play, because video games are primarily games that you see and interact with via a video display. Same for movies, or books or music or whatever. Watch, listen, dance, enjoy, have fun. Go fo...

Re: Japan and the Xbox One

I did say "If the reason is nationalism...", and it is a commonly sited reason going back to post WWII. Year after year I have read of Japanese reluctance to buy foreign industrial products. Is the preference something like better quality control, or something like Made in Japan. Recently,...

Japan and the Xbox One

Can Microsoft do anything about embarrasingly low sales of their console in Japan? Is it worth it for them even to try?

If the reason the Japanese are not buying the MS product is nationalism, should Americans take exception to that?

Re: 2015/6/20: Wii: Rampage: Total Destruction, Vacation Isle Beach Party

Curiousity question - who was your local horror host for Saturday afternoon Creature Features? The 1960s Godzilla and, sig,h Gamera films did make me want to love the giant monsters in the Rampage franchise, but it never captivated me. Crush Crumble Chomp was more fun early on, and Godzilla Destroy ...
