Flashback Question

Postby matmico1 » January 18th, 2015, 11:42 pm

Dave do you think they will ever make a flashback system with a cartridge slot? I am going nuts for one as I have a re seller of only classic consoles close by. And I am drooling over their Atari 2600 and Colecovision cartridges. And do you think there is any chance for an Oddyssey 2 Flashback? Thanks

I think you might find the Retron 5 useful.

I have my doubts that future Flashbacks will have cartridge slots, because classic games are less common than they used to be (or so it seems).  There was a Genesis remake with a cartridge slot, but that's about it.

I think Actraiser has the right idea.  I'm hoping the Retron line of systems will continue to expand the types of games they support.

I'd love to see the retron add support for the tg-16. That's the retro console that has my attention right now.

You know, you can pick up an Atari 2600, especially the later Jr. model, off eBay for about $35 including cables and a joystick or two. Why not just buy one of those?

Now, the Coleco on the other hand... I was looking at those on eBay yesterday, and you won't get one that's stated to be tested and working without spending well over a hundred bucks....

Thanks LS! I bought an Atari Junior off ebay for $45 (including shipping) and it comes with supposedly 10+ cartridges including some classics like Asteroids and Berzerk. Plus 2 joysticks and 2 paddle controllers. I don't care if it is the old woodgrain console I played as a kid. I just want to play my old 2600 games with the memorable joysticks and paddles I grew up luving as a kid.
