Supposedly there is an adapter coming out for the Retron 5, but who knows what the deal is with that?

A couple of people at AtariAge have the Retro Freak and are posting impressions.

Sounds promising if it indeed releases over here next year. Not only will it be able to play Game Gear software on a television, it can also add a lot of additional functionality to a classic gamer's collection like the ability to play NTSC/PAL imports without issue, provide an avenue to experience the wonderful FM sound in Sega Master System games that had that feature, translated RPG's without the need for expensive repro cartridges, etc.

And while it won't support original media, I bet it plays SG-1000 roms loaded from a SD card. Most SMS emulators have that ability, so I bet that the one they sourced for the Retro Freak does as well.

About all that I don't like that I've seen is the need to use USB adapters for original controllers. I wish this had the Retron 5's built-in original controller ports.

Wasn't one of you interested in possibly tracking down some SG-1000 games a while back? This review of the Retro Freak that I just read (Which is a console that I brought up in this thread since it has Game Gear cartridge support) mentions that it apparently is also going to get an adapter for SG-1000 cartridges.
