Colecovision Star Wars: The Arcade Game

Postby Teddybear » February 18th, 2018, 5:08 pm

I made a relevant discovery today - Star Wars: The Arcade Game is FULLY operational with the Coleco Roller Controller. Problem is (like most other Colecovision items) the game really plays no better with it - that track ball is junk to begin with.

In fairness, NO port of this game on any system is worth spending too much time on due to the poor firing control.

The VGC may want to look into this and update the review with the track ball icon.

Awhile back I was looking for the perfect arcade port. I found it but You must own a GMeCube. Their was a Star Wars Rebel Strike 3 preview disc that had the whole game. I found it about a year ago at a retro game store.

I enjoy the 1983 arcade game. Best mid 80s port at the time I have found is on the TI99 of all things. Maybe I will try to record some gameplay and share it.

The Atari ST port is fantastic and uses the mouse for control which adds to the port.

And just for Jon it’s been ported to the Jaguar:
