They've been doing features on it pretty much every day for two weeks, have talked about it a ton on their NVC podcast, and have made no bones about absolutely everyone there loving it.  I am not surprised.  They're about 99% of the reason I want to play this game.  I think if certain posters here (I get who you're referencing there David [smile]) spent time reading the Nintendo articles there and listening to NVC each week, he'd see IGN much differently.

IGN as a review site is often worthless, and I never read it. I am sure they bemoaned the lack of story in this game? 'Your link is dead, Jim!'

Clearly Nintendo has the best game lineup this fall, and Wii U is the most deserving new gen console of a purchase, however, good look finding major media outlets to report that FACT. They have MT Dew to drink, and Doritos residue on their keyboards, and those things must be accounted for.

Nintendo has the most game centric and consumer friendly attitude, but that is not important compared to Xbox LIVE advertising and Sony games that have not near the popularity and/or polish and quality as Nintendo games. But you go ahead, cherry pick ONE review, and pretend there is no bias against Nintendo in the media. Lol. What a moment for you?

Will this get posted? He can bait me, that is acceptable, but is it acceptable for me to respond?

I would disagree on them having the "best line-up", considering the system has been out for over a year, I was expecting a much better selection.

Nobody's tryng to "bait" you Steer, quit being so melodramatic.

I was definitely not referencing or "baiting" another poster here. No way was I doing that. Everyone knows the IGN team gets loads of cash and soda as a bribe, because Mountain Dew hates Nintendo. And, the Wii U has the best line-up. That's NOT debatable. No way. They deserve sales because they're the best company, with the best management, and the best designers in the entire world. Again, that's just factual information.

I'm sorry, it's true that I cherry-picked the one positive review IGN has ever given Nintendo. Well, except for Wind Waker HD. And Pikmin 3. And Skyward Sword. And Super Mario 3D Land. And Donkey Kong Country Returns. And Kirby's Return to Dreamland. And A Link Between Worlds. And Metroid Prime. And - sorry, I lost my train of thought. Oh yeah, I won't cherry-pick again. Don't worry.

No surprise here. These games are usually awesome. At the end of the day what else does Nintendo do? It's not like they introduce many new IP's anyway. They should get it right, they practically invented the platformer.

You make a good point.

So many positive game scores, so much negative editorial, or non coverage.

Too much emphasis on games by Nintendo, need more intrusive adds and NFL Apps to keep the hardcore gamer happy I guess.

Two theories/reasons why Nintendo hasn't released many first party games yet:

1) They're following the same release trajectory as the 3DS'; they're giving third parties first shot at making early adopter sales to gain traction on the platform instead of dominating software market share with their own games and discouraging third parties from making anything for the WiiU.

2) They've yet to catch up on the HD game development cycle.  I think Nintendo's first party studios, much like most Japanese game developers in the PS3/360 era, are experiencing growing pains of, first, internally developing a new proprietary game engine for their WiiU games, and, second, making time estimates for creating higher-res assets (environments, models, animations, effects, etc).
