Happy holidays to all!
And for anyone setting up their PS4 or XBone they just got as a gift, you get a special present today from the hacker group lizard squad taking credit on twitter for taking PSN and XBLA offline. I'm getting tired of this hacker group that last hacked XBLA around Thanksgiving.
What do you all think? I know many of you don't even care to have your console online.

Well they are a bunch of ****s.  I turned on my 1 today and the whole network was down.  I wanted to see what my friends were playing and go on COD Ghosts to see if it was as bad as the critic said it was.
Oh well I will just have to play it offline.  Though I do have Goddus on Steam to play. Hey I am on Halo Spartan assault and I will just play it offline.

It highlights that the PS4 and Xbone have much of their features muted without an online connection and a lot of their games are the same.
But to be honest this Lizard Squad thing are just a bunch of morons, do they even have a point ? What is their agenda ? Why do they do this ? Do they have an ideal or just enjoy disrupting millions of people's Xmas gifts ? They've got their publicity now - so what next ? Is this going to be a frequent occurrence? Is there anything Sony and MS can do to stop it happening in the future ?

So many questions......

I can't figure out there agenda, except maybe their some pc gaming elitist (no disrespect to anyone here) that just hate consoles and console gamers. Of course I'm just speculating. Only they know the agenda. It could just be they are a-holes.

Astro, I just picked up Spartan Assault on the XBone since it was just over $3 the other day and hope to try it out for the first time this weekend. Tag is gillygil420

North Korea attacked Sony.
Lizard Squad attacked Sony
Therefore Lizard Squad is working for North Korea

And North Korea goes back up on the terrorist sponsored list

IMHO the only reasonable explanation is that the Lizard Squad folks want rectal feeding once captured.  It's the only reasonable explanation.

Anything less just doesn't make sense.

I hope with the number of people who have an Xbox One in this forum topic, someone can answer a question for me. Like most people with a PS4 or Xbox One, I was unable to get online (sign in or play any game - including physical copies) on Christmas day. While I was upset, I just watched a DVD until the service was restored. After that, I did some checking around and read about a setting on the Xbox One called "My Home Xbox". My system is set up like this and the text reads "This is your home Xbox, so people can play your downloaded games without having to sign in as you". Then I read, and found another setting under network called "Go offline". I don't want to try it now since there is no disruption of service. However, I'm not sure I understand either option.

For the "My Home Xbox" choice, which is enabled, what's the point of playing a game if you can't sign in? What happens to the game saves, progress, and achievement unlocks? I would assume you have to load a profile in order to continue and that is what I could not do. As far as the "Go offline", I admit I didn't try it but curious if anyone knows about that. If you go offline, can you play physical and digital games and can you load your profile and save game?

As an added note, I would love to play Halo Spartan Assault with people so hopefully I can get in on the fun. My gamertag is NukeSteve

According to the critic, you can go offline and play single-player games that don't require an internet connection.

Thanks for replying but this does not really answer my question. I'm trying to understand if I can load my profile and save game progress? I understand I can take my Xbox One offline myself but I'm curious about simulating what happened on Christmas since I have a feeling it is going to be a more common occurrence.

Thank you.

I've seen the media describe these Lizard Squad guys as 'cyber terrorists'.
Frankly I think that gives them too much credit - more like 'cyber vandals'.
