No, all that says is that it started out as a Xbox 360 and PC release and reaffirms that the developer tasked with adapting this to the Xbox 360 did an admirable job of things while the Xbox One lead possibly didn't do the best job at taking full advantage of the Xbox One's resources.

There's nothing there "proving" that it's not a "proper" next-gen release.

Sonicx9 wrote:As for Mighty No. 9, if you looked at an early demo from 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UXDiQrgI6M the graphics look over 9000 times better and look way more like a proper next-gen game compared to the final release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIzKp30x088 which looks like a bad shovel ware PS2 game which is awful for something on the current gen consoles/PC in the year 2016.

Read the description of the video that you linked to.

Again, you've failed to demonstrate that this one was held back by last-gen support. That the final game isn't as impressive looking as hoped simply isn't proof of what you're saying. This isn't a very complicated concept.

Find something like an interview from a member of the team that blames the existence of this game on less powerful platforms as the reason for its disappointing technical prowess in finished form, and then we'll talk. Until then you're just speculating with nothing to support your viewpoint for what went wrong with this game.

Sonicx9 wrote:And this is not the first time with graphical downgrades because of weaker hardware, look at Watch Dogs in 2012 compared to the final release: http://gamingdeath.com/wp-content/uploa ... Hype-4.jpg Can you spot the differences people?

Just because the final release doesn't look as impressive as something like a rendering done early in development is hardly affirmation that it was constrained for the reasons you've stated.

One of the producers does admit they did things wrong with the game.

But one thing I can not stand is when I see early demos that look so much better then the final resales, lying to you on what the game actually looks like in the end for titles like Watch Dogs/Mighty No. 9, would that bother you because it proves that the companies are not representing their products right to the gamer/customer!

I find things like the Aliens deal by Sega where the finished product was significantly inferior to pre-release videos distasteful as well, since it's misleading advertising.

But without further evidence, we can't make the connection on why that happened in each instance where a game didn't live up to early video and stills without further evidence such as a frank public appraisal by the developers on where they went wrong.

All you've been doing is speculating. There might be some truth in there, but you haven't provided any proof in each of these instances that cross-generational support was the leading culprit.

Japanese Devs Are Starting To Give Up On The Last Gen/Handhelds...THANK GOD!

Postby Sonicx9 » August 2nd, 2016, 6:58 pm

Crows: Burning Edge, a former PS4/PS Vita cross platform game had it PS Vita version cancelled to be a PS4/True Next gen only game.: http://gematsu.com/2016/08/crows-burnin ... r-27-japan

This is a graphic comparison from 2015 to 2016: http://www.ign.com/images/games/crows-b ... 4-20039748 vs http://imgur.com/ntlaRaJ it is showing that Japanese devs are finally giving up doing down ports for weaker hardware because it could hold back there games.

And my word to Bandai Namco is I applaud them, because I wish other Japanese Publishers/Developers, cough cough Comcept, cough cough Inti Creates, cough cough Koei Tecmo, cough cough Square Enix, cough cough Atlus, cough cough Marvelous, cough cough Acquire, etc. Would just give up the ghost on doing PS3/Xbox 360/PS Vita/3DS/Mobile versions of their next gen PC/PS4/Xbox One/Wii U multi-platform games.

I mean, it is the year 2016, 3 years after the PS4/Xbox One came out, and some such as Japanese Developers/Telltale/Select Indie are still making versions of their so called next gen PC/PS4/Xbox One/Wii U multiplatform games to the less powerfull PS3/Xbox 360/PS Vita/3DS/Mobile version.

This situation kind of reminds me of what happens to Dying Light being cancelled on last gen at the last minute because of hardware limitation for those that remember.

The cancellation announcement may start to get the ball rolling for those that have not given up yet in the near future.

I know I am beating a dead horse at this point, but for a change of pace, something postie instead of negative related to what I have been doing in the past year on these forums.

Give your thoughts on this situation?

(Note: I know I am somewhat copying this ReviewTechUSA video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNDHAhBbP2E, but I am inspired by it because this is ridiculous which I will explain below.)

Valkyria: Azure Revolution Will Release For both PS4 And PS Vita? WTH WHY!?!?!?

http://gematsu.com/2016/08/valkyria-azu ... ate-august

This makes my blood boil, not because it ruins the potential of true next-gen Japanese made PS4 exclusive game created with the current high standards. But they do a PS Vita port before the base PS4 version comes out. And if that is not bad enough, their going to ruin this game because of the PS Vita hardware limitations are going to make this become the next Mighty No. 9 in terms of a graphics/quality downgrade.

I mean its 2016, soon 2017, and most companies have given up on the last gen/handhelds down ports from current gen Consoles/PC at this point of time, save for a few exceptions.

I mean, Bandai Namco was smart at last minute to drop the PS Vita version of Crows: Burning Edge because they wanted the game to become bigger and better. And some of the indie developers cancelled promised PS Vita versions such as Moon Hunters: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/201 ... cancelled/, Galak-Z:http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2015/07/14/galak-z-ps-vita-version-put-ice-ps4-version-releases-august-4/, Guns Up!: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/201 ... oming-ps4/, and Hand of Fate: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/201 ... cancelled/ all Cancelled PS Vita versions that where once planed because of hardware limitation issues.

I know I do not want to bring up stuff like this anymore in a negative way. But this had to be mentioned as one of the dumbest development decisions I have seen in recent times, and I had to mention this on the forums because of this happening!

Jeez, let it go. Next-gen, last-gen...who cares? If a game is good/worth buying, what difference does it make? If it bothers you so bad, just don't buy it and move on with your life.

Seconded, zetax. Visuals simply don't matter that much between Gen 7 and Gen 8.

Because of the negative rep this topic has been getting. I am probably going to do an apology/reasons as to why I have been doing it for a good while?

I am sorry for doing this people on the forums, but here is the reason I was doing this in the first place below.

It was because I was Enamored by many people on YouTube such as ReviewTechUSA, etc that made rants about how the 7th Gen Consoles/8th Gen Handhelds are holding back the true potential of the current 3 most powerful systems/PC (Yes I know the Wii U is not as powerful as the PC/PS4/Xbox One, but can do more then the PS3/Xbox 360 in the right hands with exclusives/Multi-platform games maid with the highest standards.) So I wanted to get on the bandwagon by doing rants like this on the forums, just like how people like AlphaOmegaSin like to do bandwagon rants is the main reason I was doing this for a while.

Now you guys get why I was doing this in the first place.

If that's your view I don't see why you need to apologise for it. We all have different opinions that's the fun of debating on forums.

Just because I/we don't agree or see it as perhaps trivial doesn't make it wrong or require an apology. If that's your belief by all means stand by it.

We don't all have to agree on everything, but once everyone has had their say there is no need keep trying to reinforce your opinion if the thread isn't flowing. If your speaking out of turn, the mods will let you know.

We are always open to a debate Sonicx9.
