I wonder how complete that game is? If you notice around 6:55ish, Link actually walks through part of the wall on multiple occasions. You can clearly see his feet passing through bricks. For a game thats been delayed for almost 2 years now, not something I want to see on the premier demo of their new console.

Note that it is a demo, and not the final product, also with the rumored delay for next year, they can use the extra time to fix these issues up before it comes out.

First, I really enjoy seeing Shigeru Miyamoto. Gaming royalty. Thumbs up to him, his smile, and his imagination.

I have to say Jimmy Fallon's excitement for Zelda is contagious. It looked fun, but graphically a bit underwhelming.

Im not buying it. The game was supposed to be released in 2015, meaning it has probably been in development since at least 2012. No excuses for shotty design work like that.

I will side with Scotland on this one. The cell-shaded look isnt doing it for me anymore. Cool at first, but the novelty has worn off. I like the stuff people have been doing recreating levels from OOT in the unreal engine. Now that is the style I would like to see. Nice, bright, vibrant, and realistic looking.

The console itself looks a nice gadget. But to be honest the game looks underwhelming nothing that couldn't easily be done on PS3 or the 360 ?

To tell you the truth, the gadget angle is the only one working for me as well. When they showed it being used and where you could see someone playing it in real time, I was like "man, that looks pretty cool. That'd be cool to own." The game is not one I'm looking forward to though. I may or may not get it for Wii U eventually, but I'm not counting down the days or anything. We'll see though. One constant for me since the Gamecube is that no matter what I say, I always eventually end up with Nintendo's new hardware.

I passed on the GC when it first came out. A move that I wish I wouldnt have done. I picked one up a few years ago and it is an exceptional system (probably one of the best I have ever owned). The only problem I have with it is that all the games I want now are getting pretty pricey!

The Wii was meh, but I recently picked one up for $6 at a thrift store. I will be using it to play my GC games using the component cables.

The WiiU was a pass for me. Still cant take the plunge on that. Especially since there are only 4 or 5 games that interest me.

The Switch, however, MIGHT be my venture in to the "next-gen" world. Thats a big might though. I have no interest in a PS4 or Xbone. But there are a few games that I want to play for those consoles. Now, if the Switch can compete with those two, and can get some solid 3rd party support I could easily see myself picking one of those up. And if the rumored $250 price tag is true, that would be another solid selling point for me.

I guess time will tell. Maybe they will actually release some info for it in January. Wouldnt that be something? I mean, its only 2 months before the release and all.

The March release actually has me a little worried. Like when they release a big budget movie in March. You know it cant compete with the December blockbusters, nor can it compete with the summer blockbusters, so you release when nothing else worth while is coming it.

If I had to guess, these things are already manufactured and state side. The logistics behind production and importation kind of supports that. They may be being assembled somewhere in Mexico right now, but the final produced products are almost definitely ready to go in a warehouse somewhere right now in North America.

With that being said, why pass on the Christmas market? Nintendo literally has nothing to push this season except steep discounts on their handheld units, a classic system you cant find, and an over priced console they abandoned last year. Well, the only thing I can think of is that developers arent having an easy time with this thing. Heck, even Zelda has been delayed again, and that was supposed to be the flagship WiiU title.

I predicted a March 2017 release on here back when everyone still thought it would release in 2016 (I should find that post again for proof I'm a psychic, minus of course my predictions PSVR would never come out ;) ). It's been pretty obvious and doesn't take a lot to figure out. That's when modern Nintendo releases handhelds.

The February to April window has, I believe, North American releases of GBA SP, DSi, 3DS, and New 3DS.

That begs the question, is it a console or a handheld? What are they going to market it as in the long run?

I think the reveal of the 3rd part developers as well as the debut trailer showing Skyrim, it inadvertently (or maybe on purpose??) showed that it will be a competitor with sony and microsoft and is trying to pull in that demographic of gameplayers.

Then you have the information that Dark Souls devs have gotten the game to run on Switch hardware. Given the super tight-lipped NDA's people have had to sign, I have to believe that was a Nintendo sanctioned info release.

So its like they are trying to capitalize on the hard-core console gamer market. With that being said, their strategies are weird if thats the case. Especially when you had both PS4/Xbone slim & pro units dropping this season, with their fully upgraded systems coming out next.
