Once again, you literally bought the Wii U for one poorly reviewed exclusive.

Zelda BotW - Also on Switch
Zelda WW - Also on Gamecube
Zelda TP - Also on Gamecube and Wii
Shovel Knight - Also on PS3, PS4, 3ds, Vita, Xbox One and PC
Zombi U - Also on PS4

You probably should have bought a Switch if those are the only games you want.

Except he saved almost $300 by not getting a switch with the expensive accessories.

If you can pick out 10 games you want for a system these days, you're doing pretty good.

So he paid $0 for the Wii U? As far as I know we don't know how much he paid. Also he clearly didn't pick out 10 games.

Own WW on GC already, own TP on GC already, shovel knight doesnt have a physical release on PS3, dont own a PS4, 3DS, Vita, XBone, or play PC games.

So far I have purchased a CiB WiiU and 5 games for $350. The Switch alone is $300. The point is, I dont want a Switch, so why would I buy one? There were games I wanted to play on the WiiU, and I made that happen for a solid price.

Additionally, I have been playing Star Fox and really like it so far. So your poor rating argument is invalid. Im not sure what your malfunction is with all of this? I have wanted a WiiU for a while to play said games, I got one and am enjoying it. Whats the problem?

My point is that you're paying about the same price to get about 6 games, only one that's even an exclusive, on a console that's pretty much at the end of it's life. If there aren't games you want on it now there won't be in the future. The Switch is at least at the beginning of it's life so you'd probably get more games in the future. You know, more bang for your buck. But whatever, it's your cash.

Lots of good games available for Wii U, not all exclusive, but some with Wii U exclusive content/features.

Fighting games like Injustice, Smash Bros, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Platformers like DK Tropical Freeze, Giana Sisters, Kirby, Mario/Luigi, Rayman Legends, Runbow, Shantae, and Yarn Yoshi. Third person action like Batman Arkham Origins, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden 3, and Splatoon. First person games like COD and Zombie U. Racers like MK8 and Need for Speed Most Wanted U. And hard to categorize things like Captain Toad, Scribblenauts, and Wonderful 101. Plenty of options...

I bolded the games mentioned here that are exclusive to the system. Other Wii U exclusives I recommend are Pikmin 3, Affordable Space Adventures, Pokken Tournament, and NES Remix Pack. Additionally, I haven't played but have heard good things about Xenoblade Chronicles X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.

The Wii U's selection of games is nowhere near as limited as most people would have you think. There are options for just about any gamer even if you ignore multiplatform and download-only titles.

He's made it very clear that he's only interested in 6 games.

Whatever. I'm wasting my time posting on this forum. The reviews here are less reliable than Gamespot's to be honest.

Good job on buying the WiiU - for the price of one new console you got a console with the 6 games you wanted.
Some people may argue that the Switch will be better in the long run, and it probably will, but it will take at least a couple of years before it builds a solid library of games. Had you bought the Switch day one, you would have played just BotW. And waited. And waited.
If you like Zelda, the WiiU has two great remasters, plus the new game coming out soon, plus every single Zelda game that's ever being released on home console and a few handheld episodes one aswell (through Virtual Console). You probably already have all these games if you're a fan, but it's just an added value to the WiiU which the Switch won't have at launch (it'll take a while to build a library of VC games too).
I recommend you don't stop with these 6 games you like but venture into the other exclusive games, some of which are brilliant - I recommend Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Wonderful 101. In addition to that, the WiiU also has a pretty healthy eShop with a some games that match Shovel Knight in style or quality (off the top of my head, Shantae, Steamworld Heist, Axiom Verge, Stealth Inc. 2 - there's a lot of them!), and in Wii Mode you can access the WiiWare shop to buy more games (Cave Story! La-Mulana!). Considering how slow Nintendo is with putting stuff on their online shop, it'll take years before the Switch can match this offer.
