New XBOX 360 Live Experience...

I have to admit I don't really care for the layout of the new XBOX experience, and I find myself missing the old system.

Still, if there's one feature I really love it's the Netflix feature.  I've subscribed to Netflix non-stop since almost the beginning of the company, and I use the standard rental by mail service regularly.  Still, I've found little use for the online viewing service over the years since its inception.  I just don't like watching movies on my computer.  The 360's ability to play these on my television has made that particular part of the Netflix service very useful to me.

[QUOTE=ZetaX]Does anyone know if you can download this front-end update on a PC, burn it to disk, and install it on the XBox that way?  I've updated the backward-compatibility stuff this way several times over the years.  Alternately, do you think this will be included on new/future games (the way firmware updates get bundled in with PS3 games)?

I don't do the whole 'on-line gaming' thing (I don't have broadband, what can I say?  I'm Amish...), so I'm sort of hoping there's an alternate way to get this stuff.

Well, in case anyone is curious, YES, there is a way to download the "New Xbox Experience" to a PC (or probably Mac) and update your Xbox with it.  I do not recommend you try the "burn CD/DVD" option that is listed on the Xbox website...I managed to make 3 fairly worthless coasters by following that 'advice'.   Copy the contents of the ZIP file to a flash-drive, stick it in your Xbox 360, and boot it up.  Painless.

Now I feel so 2008, I can hardly stand it!

P.S.: Happy New Year, gang.
