Capcom has high hopes that the upcoming Wii-exclusive Monster Hunter 3 finds the same monstrous success in the West as it has in Japan.

During the Osaka, Japan-based publisher's earnings call for the December quarter, Capcom stated "...We plan to release our leading titles overseas to acquire game users, as the overseas market for Wii is extensive.

"One of our leading titles is Monster Hunter 3. ... If we can gain recognition of this product in the European and North American markets, our market strategy will see a noticeable change."

My most anticicpated 3rd party wii title. It should do well, afterall you kill dinosaurs, who could ask for anything more?

Monster Hunter 3 on wii going west...

I'm certainly curious about this game, but I've never played any of the other games in the series and not enough information has been released about this. This is definately on my radar, though! Is Monster Hunter an rpg, an action game, or none of the above?

Monster Hunter is a banal, dreary online 4 player co-op action RPG.  Think Phantasy Star Online with all the character and diversity sucked out of it.

I was once curious about this series...I finally broke down and got Monster Hunter 2 on the PSP.  Wow, what a bad game.  Its beyond tedious.  I'm sure there is some fun to be had in there (somewhere), but it was a confusing, frustrating mess of a game.

Let's hope the Wii game turns out better.

Glad to see things are still the same on these forums.

It's been awhile since I've posted and things feel just about the same...feels like home.

Though I don't see many posts from Feilong...I hope he still posts around here.

I know you were just messing around...don't worry about it.

Monster Hunter has a great concept (also why I was drawn to it)...I found the execution lacking though.

I still have high hopes that they can refine the game in the Wii sequel.

I just read on Kotaku that they are going to have a monthly fee in Japan to play Monster Hunter 3 online...

I wonder if that will carry over to other parts of the world.
