Syphon Filter: Combat Ops (PSP)

Postby wur1 » March 25th, 2009, 12:55 am

Has anyone played this? My only this gen console is the Wii, so I haven't been playing much online FPS lately except for this.

For a generic online FPS, it's really good. It's very well balanced in terms of weapons, default levels, and health regeneration. I don't really mind the single analog, in fact I rather enjoy it because it plays exactly like Perfect Dark and Goldeneye with the analog-aim control set. In fact, the whole radar system thing and weapon selection reminds me of Goldeneye.

I like the whole Gears of War-type cover system, too. (Although the SF games actually had it before Gears.)

It's only $10 if I remember correctly, and there's no subscription fee, so it's definitely worth taking a plunge on even if you moderately like FPSs. The people who play it aren't as religious as Halo or Counterstrike players, so it's not like you just walk into a room and instantly get sniped.
