Negative speculation going too far?

Postby Hardcore_Sadism1 » August 21st, 2010, 11:18 pm

That's so vaguely (even by officials) put that I can just consider the "PS3/Xbox 360" quality graphics statement as BS.Nintendo were never known to be exactly at level with technological capabilities of their competitors. So what would be the purpose of making it that powerful in the risk of losing total pricing appeal?

If you like conspiracy theories...well, the story could be an intentional leak.  Now, if the system gets released at $200, it'll seem like a bargain.

NES vs Master System
SNES vs Genesis
N64 vs PSX
Gamecube vs PS2 (Nintendo didn't take the original X-Box very seriously at first).

In nearly every single case, Nintendo had at least one technological "leg up" on it's competitor.

As for the 3DS being on the same level as PS3/360? Well, the 3DS isn't going to have a 720p output, so even if it is just as "capable," it won't be able to look "as good" as current gen consoles.
